“Nice hotel off-strip”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

We stayed in Hyatt place on memorial day weekend. Rooms are clean and big. They allowed us early check-in and that helped a lot. They have free shuttle to strip which is good as at least you can save taxi wait time or fare if planned properly. Shuttle drops/picks at Planet Hollywood Hotel on the strip. Complimentary breakfast is good and have standard options. Though most of the people may miss it as it is served till 10 AM only and when you return after partying in early morning, i guess most of us will be sleeping. Front desk is really helpful.

I needed a hotel that was off the strip so i would not have to deal with the horrible traffic on the strip and its surrounds when i needed to get out of the area, like to go to Lotus of Siam, yet close enough so I could drive to the strip hotels when i needed to. Hyatt Place, formerly AmeriSuites, fitted that criteria. Rooms are typical of all Hyatt Places (at least the five or six I've been to). Rooms still seemed fresh and not worn. Main downside was the loud heating and a/c unit this and other Hyatt Places are saddled with. Desk staff were friendly and efficient. Close to UNLV, but really not that close to walk to the strip for folks who have some difficulty walking, like elderly folks. Nothing fancy but nothing pricey either. I believe I paid about $100 for a Friday nite.

Okay so this cute little tiny hotel isn't bad- if you're in Vegas for work... Or with your family full of little kids and you're trying to avoid the crazy night life. Not so great if you plan to be the life of the party ON the strip like 90% of the time.

The rates were great, given it was memorial day weekend. Unfortunately the savings just went to taxi rides to and from the strip. If youre thinking, "oh I'll just drive" think again. That's probably worse. It took our friends an hour to maneuver through traffic and find parking.

Save yourself a headache, shell out an extra $150, and book a decent hotel in the middle of the action!

Ps: one of our sheets had holes...

The hotel is situated literally minutes from the LV Airport and is directly across from the Hard Rock & Rumor hotels. Also just up the street from UNLV. The price was half of the other hotels in the immediate area. Check in was smooth even when I requested a room change to be away from a main door and noisy family. The room was large, very well appointed although I could have used a microwave to re heat some food. There is bakery goods, chips, fruit and drinks available in the lobby and the building is generally quite quiet. There is NO room service but you can order hot food/drinks/salads/etc from the front desk and they call when it arrives and you go do to pick it up. A minor inconvenience but the pricing is good and the food was properly prepared and the salads fresh. All in all, I found it a great value in Vegas. Close enough to get to the strip quickly (they have a shuttle) yet far enough away to out of the fray.

Room Tip: Avoid the first floor rooms along the main corridors where people are coming and going. The quieter...

We stayed at Hyatt Place for our first night trip in vegas - our Memorial day family getaway,

The location, the rooms, and pretty much everything you need is in it or near it and at the best quality. The rooms are spacious and really clean.

They also offer breakfast which is really filling. Try their sausage. Tasty and great!

We stayed here for a visit to UNLV & the location was fantastic. The rooms were comfortable, we had a small suite with 2 queen beds. I was surprised at how nice the room was given the rate. I thought the beds were very comfortable. My only complaint about the room is that I didn't think it was superbly clean. It was exactly dirty, but there were bits around - like paper in the bath & tape on the door. The sink counter had been left wet and allowed to dry rather than wiped down. Other than that it was comfortable. And, we did stay for 2 nights. The second day our room was much cleaner. I had left a $5 on the bed for housekeeping so that might have made a difference.

The provided breakfast was okay. I mean there was enough food to choose from, but I wouldn't choose to go there if it wasn't included. The nice thing is the menu was different the second day, which is unusual for many hotel provided breakfasts.

The staff was rather helpful. However, I do advise anyone staying here that wants to go to the strip either plan your trip to use the Hyatt shuttle or make sure you have someone call for a taxi at a set time. Don't just expect to get a taxi on short notice. We made that mistake and waited almost a half hour. Also, make sure the taxi has your party name for the time or someone might snag your cab!

I normally stay downtown or on the strip, but a friend had enough points, so we saved some money and stayed here for free. We intended to walk to the strip, and possibly take a cab back at night, but ended up renting a car.

The hotel and staff were very nice, like most other Hyatts. The room was clean and big enough for the two of us, and we mostly used the place as a staging area. Although, it did give us more of an opportunity to see places off strip. We visited many casinos and restaurants that I had never seen in my previous 4 trips to Vegas.

If you're looking for quiet, this is your place. Most people prefer to be 'in the middle of it' while in Vegas.

On the other hand, put this hotel any other place in the world, and I'd stay again no problem.
