First time staying at the Planet Hollywood. It is conveniently located on the Strip and has the Mile Shops right next door! The room was nice, the bathtub was heavenly! It was nice to come back to the room after walking along the Strip and be able to soak in a nice tub! The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. My only issue was that there were no fridges or coffee makers in the room. When I ordered a caraf of hot water at night, it cost me almost $6! That was just for hotwater, no tea bags or coffee! Also there was a $13.99 charge for the internet daily and for EACH connection. So for a phone and a laptop or iPad, it was $27.98 a day! Drinks in the lounge were about $15 each if you weren't gambling. I found it very expensive! This was my 4th trip to Las Vegas and it was the most expensive one yet! I think I'll stick to going to all inclusive places from now on............

I can only comment on my room of course. The hotel is well situated midway on the strip. I enjoyed the vibe there because of its lack of pretentiousness. The other casinos and shops usually make you feel inadequate but Planet Hollywood remains the regular guy's casino. The Miracle Mile shops are actually normal shops, not only catering to the 1%, with plenty of affordable dining options and decent bars.

My room was on the 8th floor. The decor is dated but still kind of interesting, with the movie memorabilia and decoration sort of like a guy's bedroom. I found the room and bathroom to be very clean, which was much appreciated. The room was very dark. No balconies and only one window, with rather poor lighting. I had asked for a quiet part of the hotel and as I was not awoken every night by screaming and such, I assume that is what I got. So I slept well. I was alone but if I was with someone, most likely the very modest storage available would have been inadequate. There is no coffee maker, fridge or anything to encourage eating in your room of course. The bed was comfy. There is $20 a day resort fee for gym, wi-fi, etc. The gym was pretty nice, offering towels, lemon water, decent equipment and apples. The wi-fi was pretty spotty and reception without it is even worse. All in all, decent value for those of us who aren't comped and aren't tycoons.

Despite the queues for checking in and check out and the fact you will never ever have the bend type you booked, the hotel was alright. Annoying thing in all Las Vegas hotels that you pay $20 per room per night for resort fees that includes the Internet connection and you are given access for one device only. This was very unfair.

The location is ok, you're a bit off the strip, but from the right entrance it's fine! McDonalds open right outside the door 24 hours a day, and the casino is ok. Rooms, average, nothing special, the TV was I think 19 inches, I haven't seen that small since I was in college.

The reason you should avoid this place, is the greedy, rude, pathetic bellhops. Let's say they get minimum wage (considering no college, no real job experience, that's good enough) then they want people giving them a few dollars per bag...To do their job? I watched for an hour (I was pretty upset after one of them tried to intimidate my wife into a tip) and one guy, made about $100 in an hour in TIPS! They are so nice, "Hello sir, what can I get for you, how is your day sir." Then, after I tipped $5.00 for them to take my bags, I thought that was enough. A few hours later when it was time to go to the hotel, the same man, was pissed and threatened me (under his breath of course) because I didn't give him more money. Unbelievable place. Vegas has turned into a breeding ground for thugs and losers... Thanks Planet Hollywood for employing these men.

The hotel is starting to show a little age, but still has some life left in it. It's close to most everything on the strip and is priced similar to all the other local properties. It's getting a little wear and tear showing on the furniture in the rooms and the bars, but still a decent property.
