The Planet Hollywood hotel is a younger targeted property in need of some renovation, the rooms and common areas are starting to look worn, the elevators sometimes had a life of their own.. The check in area is WOEFULLY understaffed and very noisy, I understand the 'hip trendy' angle but, if the staff cannot hear you how can you get checked in quickly? The room we stayed in was a 'fountain view' room which would have been great if the window had been cleaned this century...

We didn't expect a particularly high standard from the room or hotel and all in all it was ok. We stayed in the Aria last year and it was the same price, much better than PH.

Wifi was a SCANDALOUS $14 a day per connection, it's free at all the MGM properties, get with it guys and eliminate the fee, it's a massive ripoff.

The best thing about PH is its proximity to the miracle mile shops, you can get cheap food and drink at the many restaurants there.

Top tip, go to the miracle mile guest services and grab a coupon book, loads of great discounts in there.

This casino/hotel is in the middle of the strip and is easy walking access to all other attractions-the shopping complex in this hotel is great and ahs ABC stores so you can pick up cheap breakfast and lunch.Rooms are big and spacious. If you get in too early you have to pay to get into your room. Many shows play here and there aare good reataurants. When you gamble and order a drink it is up to you as to how much you pay for it!

I stayed at Planet Hollywood recently with a group of girls. Since there 10+ ladies travelling, we didn’t put too much thought into picking the hotel other than location on the strip (great!) and cost (pretty good). It seemed most important to just make a decision and get everyone booking. Hindsight is 20-20 we probably could have found a better hotel of similar price and location.

Rooms – we upgraded for $20/night to a room 150sq feet larger with double vanities in the bathroom. Awesome choice when 2 women are sharing the room and want to beautify! The bathroom was great. Everything else was shoddy. Huge carpet wrinkle through the middle of the room, the worst pillows, dented desk, tiny window, mismatched duvet covers, dark room, missing lamps. Not the quality of room someone in their 30’s expects in Vegas. We wanted “glam Hollywood themed rooms” as advertised, and got “old and never renovated with slightly creepy Dusk til Dawn décor”. P.S. no coffee makers or bathrobes in the rooms, in case you’re curious.

Pool – PLAIN JANE. There is the Cherry pool which can best be described as “booty shaking”. We loved the idea of a 21+ pool where we could stay away from kids, since we all had kids at home. One look at the 21-25 year old crowd with the booty shakers and making out and we headed for the Citrus all ages pool. We saw 3 kids the entire time. Hint if you want to pick-up, booty shake, dance and drink – choose the Cherry pool. If you might be hungover and want to relax choose the Citrus pool.

Cabana - One huge advantage to Planet Hollywood is that as a more “budget” hotel, things are affordable. We got a cabana for 13 people for $240. I doubt we could have afforded a cabana at Caesar’s palace or Mandalay Bay.

Hotel / property – lots of restaurants to choose from, even at 530am. Big mall with more restaurants and shopping underneath which was convenient. The location is great. You can walk and visit most of the major hotels easily. In the common areas most of the upkeep seemed ok, with the exception of the glass doors leading to the strip which were so foggy with neglect that you could barely see through them. Maybe this is a strategy to ensure drunks don’t walk into them??

Overall, my experience at Planet Hollywood was OK. The rooms sucked and need a ton of TLC. But the hotel overall was fine, and convenient. Just keep in mind that it is YOUNG (patrons), and neglected (rooms).

Tip – Sign up for the Total Rewards card. Almost every restaurant in the hotel and mall has lower prices for Total Rewards members.

Room Tip: Consider upgrading from the standard room. It's cheap, you get an extra vanity, they waive the early check in fee and the rooms are located in the center of the hotel so you can use both banks of elevators.

Stayed in a hollywood hip room on the 33rd floor. Was lucky enough to get a strip view, asked at check in if there were any available..... as we were on our honeymoon! Great view from our room, clean, modern. Negatives of our stay would be that there is no free wifi! Although we would just go down to starbucks or dailies planets to use there free wifi! The pool area is one of the worst I have ever seen. They have 2 small pools, the most annoying thing at the pool area is that you cannot sit by the pool unless you order and pay for a day bed for the day, as there is only a handful of sun beds that are free to sit on next to the pool. The only place you can sit for free is on the lower deck where you can not even see the pool. That was very disappointing. Also there is not enough shade on the pool deck either! Also it would help if they put a bit more greenery on the pool deck so it isn't just concrete everywhere. Some fake turf would do wonders. We were lucky on one of the days that we were able to use the Paris pool next door as the planet hollywoods one was closed for a private function. That pool area is so much better! Overall planet hollywood has a nice hotel, casino, hotel rooms but would not stay again unless they renewed/ had a better pool area

Room Tip: higher floor

Before heading home we closed our Vegas vacation by staying at Planet Hollywood resort & casino. We stayed the night before the Mayweather fight and the strip was alive with action! Our room was clean and cozy but a bit on the small side. I forgive that however for being upgraded to a strip view room right above the Bellagio Fountains! All the PH rooms are themed after block buster movies and ours was one of our favorites "Shawshank Redemption". The furniture had quite a few bumps and scraps but the beds were very lush and the bathtub was wonderful! We enjoyed our time at the casino and we have eaten at the Spice Market Buffet twice now and both times the food was fresh and plentiful. I will be reviewing our time there this trip soon!
