“Vegas not like it used to be not tourist friendly”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Have been to Vegas several times over 2 decades. Planet Hollywood was very nice. Renovated from another hotel 7 yrs ago it looks are pleasing, our room was spacious like a suite, found restaurant better than buffet-great selection, good prices and tastes awesome.
Found Vegas itself very disappointing. If your hotel is on strip, insist your cab drive you on strip to hotel. Men keep your hands in pockets where your valuables are. Time share cons are worse than Mexico-nothing for free-their 2 hr speech was 4 hrs even when we said financially we couldn't afford.
Didn't know why cabbies were laughing outside McCarren airport when our Canadian charter arrived. We stupidly believed driver when he said freeway was faster-it's not it bows way out-takes longer and costs $6-8 more than cab on strip. When leaving we took cab at planet Hollywood hotel lineup. Driver so ignorant he dropped us off at wrong end of airport; was it on purpose-all know where to pick up international tourists, but not to drop off? We had to walk quite distance to international section airport
Be careful walking off the strip when getting dark. Take cab it's about $5. At 3:45pm walked east to hard rock hotel. Map shows 2 blocks its more like a mile. Area is not safe when dark; when I arrived at hard rock gift shop (outside hotel) it was dark out and hotel staff advised me to take cab back to strip.
Found great store for tourist shopping on strip near McDonald's/MGM. North outlet mall better than south one.
Fremont street was beautiful.
Note ABC The Lookout sept 6/13 confirmed what we learned last dec.
Summary, you'll have a good time if you are wary that Vegas has changed. Tourist trap doesn't encompass all

Wе got what they promised: hotel on the Strip, cheap, clean enough,
They have an excellent meal pass for several hotels. we like to have dinner at Paris with their varied cuisine.
The location was great and we felt comfortable

Great location in the middle of the strip. The rooms are super spacious with either the double queen or the king bed. The tub is huge and deep (of course we fill ours with ice and beer). The Miracle Mile Mall surrounds the hotel for lots of shopping and eating options. However Earl of Sandwich located in the hotel casino is a personal favorite of mine. Also located in the casino is a Starbucks which is a MUST for those long Vegas nights. And the Strip House (steak house). My husband wanted to go here for his birthday since it came highly recommended by The Travel Channel. Best steak ever ! Also I have been a Total Rewards member since 2011 and always use my card at all the Caesar's casinos whether I'm at the slots or on the craps tables. Rack up those points for all that gambling to get credit on food. Also Total Rewards members get awesome deals on return trips to Vegas.

Room Tip: Ask for a room higher up for better views. And get to Vegas early so you can enjoy the whole day - e...

Good position on the strip and if you get the right deal like we did this can be excellent value for money. The rooms are a bit dated and tatty around the edges but nothing dirty or broken. Beds were fairly comfortable and the room size is reasonable as is the bathroom. Check-in was ok, no real complaints but no really welcoming feel. Casino is rather dark compared to some others on the strip - they seem to be going for a party feel rather than a more upmarket one. Would re-visit provided the deal was right but not one of our favourite places to stay on the strip.

I just returned from a four night comped stay at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.Using some good solid advice and tips from my trip advisor family,I requested a room on the higher floors with a mountain view.I was very pleasently surpised at the size, cleanliness, ample drawer and closet space and a very nice room with a view. This Hotel is a mega-resort so if walking is an issue, then this would not be a good choice. My stay was very pleasent, relaxing and with the exception of a charge on my credit card that is in dispute,I was extremely pleased with my choice. The location is in the center of the strip and there is ample avenues of entertainment even if your not a gambler. Thanks for an enjoyable stay to the Planet Hollywood staff.

Room Tip: Request a room on the higher floors,I was on the 35 floor facing the mountains and the room was more...

I like planet holllywood and would stay there again. Our room had a view of the strip, pool and Bellagio fountains. I would actually prefer a room on the back of the hotel next time. Although the view was nice, the all day music from the pool AND the music from the Cosmopolitan pool across the street was in a all day competition. It was always loud and sounded awful. You could feel each beat from both hotels through our floors.

We recently spend 4 nights in total at Planet Hollywood. It ticked all the boxes- excellent location, good value and had everything we needed. Firstly the location is very good. Right on the strip and within walking distance to a range of other hotel/casinos. It just meant that we weren't having to spend a fortune on taxis. Originally we spent one night before flying to Oregon to start a road trip and then spend three nights here again before flying out. Check-in was quick and easy in both instances, with staff being efficient and helpful. The room we had the first night was great with a big bathtub. The bed and bedding was fantastic. After travelling to a day it was great to crawl into such an amazing bed. The second room was ok, but not as nice as the first. It seemed a bit older- as it if hadn't been renovated as recently. Still a great bed though! It is a massive place but everything was well marked and pretty easy to find. We went to use the pool area- unfortunately there was a lightening storm, so it was shut. However the pool area looked great!
