The location of this hotel is perfect. Its clean staff is nice and it does not smell like smoke.it has a mall connected to it.it is a very nice mexican bar in the hotel has great steak. I did not like the fact that they do not have movie channels on their tv.

We really liked this hotel.. But it's now 6pm and we've called 3 times to have our room cleaned and yet still nothing. We payed enough to be here.. Clean our damn room!!! The housekeeping department was very rude when I called about this issue. Ill never stay here again!! You just lost some frequent Vegas travelers, PH!!!!!!

I am usually very loyal to two hotel/casinos in Las Vegas, but I figured I would try something new on this trip to the desert. I traveled with a group of family and friends to Planet Hollywood for three days in July. There would be some gambling on this trip, but mostly pool and drinks this time around. The hotel gave us a free bottle of booze upon check in. We went with the rum while my friends chose vodka. This made for an interesting start to our trip. We hit the pool right away after checking in. It was pretty average. Two freezing cold L-shaped concrete pools on the roof of the building. The drink prices were slightly higher than the other strip resorts I have stayed at. The scenery was mostly concrete walls. Thank goodness the temperature was 105 and sunny that day. We stayed in a Hollywood Hip room. The lady at the counter suckered us into paying an extra $25 a night for a Bellagio fountain view room. We ended up getting a sliver view of half the fountains. The rooms were also average. The remnants of the old Aladdin were everywhere; Striped brown and tan wallpaper in the rooms and tired carpeting from another era on the floors. I didn't mind these things though. Vegas hotel rooms are a place to crash between benders, not sleep in and watch TV. If you're going to Las Vegas to lay in bed and soak in a bathtub, you're doing it wrong. The casino was nice and updated. There were party pits with dancers as this is now the Vegas standard at any strip casino on a weekend. Cocktail waitresses were walking around serving drinks, but they pretty much ignored you unless you were playing table games. If you want cheap booze, walk out into the mall area and stop by the ABC store. You can buy a 24 oz beer for under $2. I do highly recommend the Earl of Sandwich restaurant if you need a tasty and cheap sandwich. Overall, It was still a great trip and I had fun (how can you not? It's Vegas), I just think that for what I paid for the room at P.H. I could have booked a room at Flamingo plus airfare. Again, I'm not knocking Planet Hollywood. You might have an amazing trip there. It just wasn't what I was hoping for.

Room Tip: Don't pay extra for the "Fountain View"

This was my first time going to Vegas and I was really excited to see the hotel after reviewing the pictures. When we came to the hotel, we had found out that Planet Hollywood was being bought out by the Hiltons so they were undergoing changes in staffing and renovations. We were very disappointed since no one from the hotel had informed us of this change. Because of this change, I believe our hotel was slow in business during this time (which made it less fun since we met less people). When we entered our room it was nice but definitely a lot smaller than what we were hoping for and our view was crap (view of the back of buildings).
Pros: clean hotel, maids came frequently, hotel was connected to the mall, modern/classy look, and was very central to the las vegas strip.
Cons: staff are nonexistent, not a busy hotel, no pool party during my visit, waiting for taxis took forever since no taxi driver would go down the steep hill to pick up visitors

I wouldn't stay here again, it was a nice hotel but there are better, such as aria, ceasars, wynn, etc.

Room Tip: The higher the better.

We spent one night at Planet Hollywood and then we took a Trafalgar tour to the Southwest. We were grateful that they let us check in early thanks to Robert at the front desk. Our room was on the 36th floor. It was okay but the room needed to be updated. The furniture looked worn. They do have a great breakfast buffet and a nice pool area though some of the chaises were broken. The casino is in the middle of the hotel and it is difficult to find your way around the hotel. Signs point one way but when you get there, you still can't find what you were looking for. We were not the only one who felt this way.

Second time to stay at this hotel. Hallways a bit tired as are the rooms, but still very clean and also nice to hae cleaners who come around at regular hours and not the crack of dawn like most hotels. You couldn't stay at a better location. Downstairs you have the magnificient mile, an array of shops and restaurants to choose from. Bars, clubs are a stones throw away. When you do venture outside after spending hours shopping :), eating or gambling , you are right in the middle of the strip. The famous Belaggio is across the road, if you are lucky to have a strip view from your room you may even have an amazing view of the famous Belaggio fountains. On in all an excellent hotel. Only downfall is the buffet which charges rediculous prices, the staff will say oh its thesame price everywhere, which is so not true.

We made reservations to stay here in Feb. 2013...we checked in and could not wait to see our room as they told us they gave us an upgrade. We were more than dissappointed when we opened the door. The room was dark...very dark...it was very small and dirty. It was funky painted furniture...all painted black. Just old and worn out looking. We decided no matter what it cost...we were leaving..lol.. We called Caesars Palace and moved over there...it was wonderful. No complaints at all. Stay away from Planet Hollywood except to gamble. The casino was nice.
