Amazing facility, extremely friendly staff both in the casino and the hotel. They actually seemed to be happy you were there. Decent rooms that were clean and tidy. Checking in was a frightening experience even to find the check in facility. I imaging that it is just the way it is in a hotel that may check in/out over 1,000 a day. But for those no expecting this, it could be completely overwhelming.

My husband and I had a great stay at Planet Hollywood over spring break. We stayed for 5 nights and were upgraded upon check in to a resort vista room, which is a step above the Hollywood Hip room that we booked. The room was at the end of the 8th floor hallway, very quiet location. Dogs are allowed on this floor though. It didn't bother us, but something to be aware of. The room was huge! Big bathroom with separate shower and tub. There was a TV over the tub! The bed was comfortable and housekeeping did a great job! Our room was cleaned and straightened every day without fail and they always said hello in the hallways. Yes, some of the furniture was nicked and the hallways could use some sprucing up. It didn't bother us. We checked in late (around 9:30 pm) so there was no wait for check in and the front desk staff were very friendly. The windows were washed while we were there.
The Miracle Mile mall which is attached to the resort is great! If you are a coffee drinker, definitely check out The Coffee Bean if the Starbucks line is too long. Also, Earl of Sandwich is really good late night food.
The only negatives: There was no lampshade on the floor lamp in our room, the air conditioner never got the room really cold (I like it cold when I sleep), and the casino layout and outdoor exits can be confusing. Study the map they give you at check in! Unless you are really picky, you will have a good stay at PH.

Just spent five nights at Planet Hollywood. In general not a bad place, however the smell of cigarette smoke is pervasive throughout the hotel. The minute you step into any public space in the hotel, it smells bad!

In addition they do not have a very good resturant selection, other casinos on the strip have better options with less wait time.

Planet Hollywood is in a great location. It's close to the airport, adjacent to the monorail line, and it's right in the center of the new heart of Las Vegas. From my view in the room (38th floor) I could look down on the Bellagio pool, the Paris balloon and Eiffel tower, as well as City Center.

Getting into the hotel is rather strange, like many of the big strip hotels. But the entrance is well organized, feeling much like the departure area of an airport. The lobby is not ostentatious, feels completely like a city hotel and not a casino--which I enjoyed. Contemporary with a little urban chic. Despite being here during a major convention, check-in was quick and painless, although the lady behind the desk was far from friendly. No big deal.

Pay attention to which elevators you need to take, as like the Venetian you have to use the right one to reach the proper floor.

My room was comfortable, with a fantastic western view, although the window could've been bigger. The bathroom was clean and modern, but the shower and its grout were showing some age. The large bathtub was convenient, and a separate room for the toilet always a plus if staying with another guest. The carpet was bunched in a couple spots--someone needs to straighten it out.

The TV wasn't HD, the battery's remote was going dead--if those things matter to you, and of course you need to pay for internet.

Checkout was quick and painless. For the rate I paid, and due to the central location, I'd certainly come back here again.

Room Tip: Room 3883 has an awesome view. Ask for a western facing room--you can even hear the music and sound...

2nd visit to Plant Hollywood (ph). Last visit was around 2009. Was there with a group of 6 girls and had been raving about it to the newbies. What a difference a few years can make! We had travelled over after a few night in New York. Tea time arrival on a Monday night in March and we immediately got what I'm certain was a hard sell to purchase a room upgrade. W had booked for non smoking room to be told they were all full and the only way to get no rooms would be to pay 250 dollars per room upgrade to core our 5 night stay? He basically put us through a tiring load of nonsense until I got annoyed and asked for a manger. Guess what, he sudnly found a ns room for me but left us 20 floors away from our friends in the who gave and took smoking rooms. Bad start you might say and I should have got a clue? The corridors to our room were just plain tired and in need of upgrade. Rooms were okay by comparison but the whole standard of service is down? We had a room service trolley left at the door of the next room for 2 days before I complained and got it moved? Was it invisible to house keeping? On our last visit, the pool was the highlight. If you know ph, it has 2 pools, one for family when we were last there and the other (Rhys facing the strip) was party city. Great beats, crowd and lots of fun n sun. On heading down to the pool area, it was just shoddy looking. Painted surfaces peeling everywhere. We went for beds at the pool to be told they were 25 dollars a day! Bloody cheek so we moved elsewhere. The whole vibe is gone from the pool parties at the mAnagament have just crowded it with beds that no one wants to make money? I'm guessing their bar sales are way down but they don't seem to get the false economy of the bed ploy. Last negative now.....last visit, the pool area had a great snack bar. W went in at lunchtime for food but couldn't see anyone serving so asked at the adjoining bar what time it opened? "April" was the wry reply!!! Sums it all up? Plus side is slots are good, god bar service when playing, PF Chuengs is still great and caught Celo Green who was playing in ph and he was magic. My verdict, last visit to Planet Holywood unless they wake up to good service.

Room Tip: Insist on non smoking or ask for the manager? Don't take a disabled room (quote from hotel) you...

Since this was my first trip to Vegas, I don't have a frame of reference for what's a great Vegas hotel but PH was pretty good. The room was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location is nice. The room I stayed in did have a closet with a broken hinge, but that wasn't a big deal. Given the chance I would probably stay here again.

Booked PH in January for our April stay
Upon check in we were informed that since we wee checking in before 4 pm it would be $28 extra . It was not stated anywhere . The first room had a very old looking bathroom. Shower tiles were very worn out , bathtub had a powder finish on it, faucet had stuff on it , counter was dusty.Room decor had gun memorabilia everywhere
We asked to be moved and were moved to a room that looked exactly like the original room. Definitely not worth the price
