“Good location.. Needs updating..”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

We stayed for 6 nights. The location of the hotel is amazing but they need to make it look less like the old Aladin hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The sinks have not been changed since the old hotel. The pool is another thing that needs to be updated. It looked like I was going to a local city pool not a pool in Vegas. They also charge $150-$200 for cabanas ? I would never pay that there. Way too outdated and not clean enough. The service was good. Really nice people. The hotel just needs to be updated.

We stayed at Planet Hollywood 5 nights. The hotel overall was average. Checkin was fast and the the clerk was friendly and helpful. We received a free upgrade to a stripo view room which was excellent. I felt the prices of the food served there was high but it seemed to be the norm for all the strip casinos. We got a Star Trek themed room and it was OK. The one displays light was broke so it didnt illuminate the piece inside. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Went to the pool one morning and the set up was awkward. around the pool there were daybeds and canopies to rent and not much room to sit and lounge around the pool like we wanted. Our experience at PH was ok. We also got tired of being hassled about bying tickets to shows or dinners everytime we exited the casino. The staff was very helpful here that was one of the upsides to PH. I think next time we may try somewhere else.

We've visited Vegas many times before and decided to try Planet Hollywood resort this trip as it seemed quite modern. We checked in at 2:00pm, and there was a very small lineup at reception. The man checking us in was rude, and snapped at me when I asked how to get to the pool area. He informed me to check with the concierge if I had questions. He didn't direct us where the elevators were to take to our room, when I asked him where the elevators were he vaguely pointed across the foyer. He rolled his eyes at me, and at that point I left and went to speak with the concierge who was helpful.

We stayed in the Hollywood Hip room, which was small but got the job done. The air conditioning worked well if you kept the fan on high and directed the vents towards the center of the room. The bath tub is huge, yes, but the shower is a standard shower with low water pressure and warm water only after you left the shower to run for 5 minutes. The bed linens had hair on them, so either they were not changed from the previous guests, or they do a poor job in laundry.

When walking through the mall, at one point you come across a pool area. You may think to yourself, "this pool isn't that bad". Well that pool is for the time share holders, not for hotel guests. Hotel guests use the small pool on the 6th floor. The "adult" pool for 18+ requires that you book a cabana to use the pool. The other pool is small, but clean. There is a shelf around the pool allowing seating, and if you want to get a lounger chair around the pool area you must get to the pool no later then 10:30. There are loungers on the lower deck, but who feels safe storing their belongings where you can't keep an eye on them? I think the reason there are no resort fees; is because the spa is a let down. The concierge did inform us that we could go to the "sister" hotels Paris, Bally's, etc... and use their pools with our room keys. I believe we could also go to Flamingo for $15, and Rio would've charged us as well.

The hotel casino was fun. The miracle mile shops were extremely convenient and a good place to shop for knick knacks, clothes, get a massage, etc.

The location is excellent, pretty much in the middle of the strip. The room was fine. If you can get a good deal, don't mind the terrible front desk service, wont spend much time in your room and don't want to use the pool, then this hotel would be a good choice.

Room Tip: To take advantage of the air conditioning in the room, point the vents to the center of the room.

This was my second time in Las Vegas (June 2012) was fabulous!
The rooms were cleaned every day to a high standard, the bathroom was gorgeous really spacious and the bathtub was amazing! :)
The staff were really friendly and attentive and the concierge helped us out on a number of occassions to get on the guest list for nightclubs.
The shops in the Miracle Mile are great we visited every day.
Planet Dailies restaurant serve really good meals at reasonable prices, the blue cheese steak was a favourite! They also have daily cocktail/sangria specials for $5 available to take out!
Free wifi from Starbucks!
The Spice Market Buffet is amazing! you can pay $55 for a 24 hour pass and it is most definately worth it!
There are 2 pools, one for the younger crowd and another family pool. My friend and I are in our mid twenties and would have probably enjoyed the younger pool but we chose the family pool for relaxation! The pool guy was continiously cleaning around the pool area and was extremely friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, the location is great being in the centre of the strip and the prices were very reasonable. No resort fees either!

we stayed at Planet Hollywood from 4th to 8th in August. We left a day early because we hated this room, Worst room in the history of our stays. Curtains were crinkled and falling apart, the safe didn't work, the T.V. was out of whack. Don't know what the problem with the bath pipes was, but were awaken at 3 am by the people upstairs who decided to take baths, one after the other. Lasted over an hour. Never heard such noise coming from pipes in my life. We asked for a room near the elevator, but were ignored completely. The lady who assigned us our room had a really bad attitude. I won't even mention the view. Your best bet is to stay at mgm properties and not Caesars' Entertainement properties. We switched to the Flamingo (they said it was an upscale room) and it wasn't any better. Mandalay is the best.

Room Tip: if you want a decent room, go somewhere else

With so many of the newer, bigger and fancier casino resorts dominating the Vegas strip it is almost impossible to find one that is affordable these days. Having stayed at the Venetian, Aria and many other of the popular swanky casino resorts, the daily resort fees can really make a hefty dent in your wallet. Not so with Planet Hollywood. It is on the smaller size in terms of its casino floor, but the mall located within it may have something to do with it. It was nice to have such a good sized mall right below our room. If you forgot any of your necessities or need drinking water or cheap eats, then this hotel can take care of all that. The rooms were spacious and the decor was current. Each room differs in that they each house different movie memorabilia which was fascinating. There are little details that remind you that this was once the short lived beautiful Aladdin casino hotel. The faucets are shaped in the magic lamp, lol. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you are driving, use back roads (Koval and Harmon) to enter the structure. Saves so much time ra...

We went there Not long ago and when we got there Valet was free so that was good we didn't want to park in the miracle mile shops which was the other option cause it was about 20 mins away . We got there a day early and was staying there for four nights so in total it would be five they offered us a room we were a group of five and wanted to be on the same floor three in one room and two in the other , they said that this was fine but they couldn't keep us on the same floor the only way they could do it was to upgrade for $50 to a resort room we said ok but the man at the desk gave us a discount and gave us a 2 for 1 discount we were grateful for this. So when we got to our rooms on the 22nd floor and unpacked to notice how filthy the room was for instance dust everywhere hairs in the bath toe nails on the floor used tissues by the tv and something sticky down the chair so we rang the man at the front desk and told him how dirty the room was and they said " what would you like us to do? " So we said can we change rooms so after arguing the toss he sanowhere we could but we couldn't be on the same floor we were annoyed with this as we had payed $50 dollars to upgrade and they were still going to charge us ,we got moved from the 22nd floor to the 16th floor away from the rest of our family . When we got to our next room it was much better but worn and impractical as the tv was on the far right wall and the beds were facing the other way so you couldn't see the tv when in bed ! Our family involved two kids and if you had kids that's it do not go there end of, not at all a kids place lots of dancing girls and you have to walk through the casino to get everywhere we went to the pool for the kids and there was adults there swearing and drinking beer and the music was banging one night so much that until 3am on the 22nd floor our family could still hear it . Non kid friendly place ok service badly set out rooms not clean , I would NOT recommend Planet Hollywood
