“What a Difference!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2007

Stayed at Planet Hollywood for a conference. What a difference from the previous Aladdin which was in need of a remodel (also stayed there for a conference). The hotel & casino look great! Rooms are modern and upgraded and the beds have the Westin feel (since they own it), baths are still huge. The food at the Daily Planet cafe is surprisingly very, very good---had breakfast there and loved it, plus it's so convenient. I would definitely stay here again, even if I wasn't at the hotel for a conference. It has that fun, awake vibe you'd expect from Las Vegas and the 80's pop in the elevator gets you ready for the day--(just hold the karaoke for the bar)...

After reading some of the reviews on here I was a bit nervous but we had booked a while ago and it was the cheapest rate we could find- we got the AAA for 119 a night. Our party needed 4 rooms, and when we checked in on a Sunday, we were given the choice of all being together in the old section or on different floors but renovated rooms. We picked the renovated rooms and are so happy we did. 3 of the 4 rooms were right off the elevators so it wasn't much walking and one had a view of the bellagio. The rooms were big, flat screen tv., great bedding, and the bathroom was huge with a soaking tub, separate stand up shower, and toilet that was in its own little room. We ate at the buffet, P.F. changs, and planet dailies and all were excellent. We also went to see Stomp Out Loud which was excellent. We did do the time share talk to get free tickets, there were 9 people in our party, 3 married couples and two couples went to the tour and we got 6 tickets free and the other for 30 bucks each. Well worth the hour and a half. They weren't even that pushy and the time share sample that they show looks amazing. The casino was nice, I didn't win but other people in our party did. The casino had a great great location on the strip and was basically right in the middle so it was an easy walk whereever we wanted to go. I would say the only negative is that we had to lug all our stuff through the mall to get from the parking garage to check in. After that first time, we just would bring the car around to the front.
Would definitely stay here again and make sure i ask for a renovated room.

My wife and stayed at the Ph in early June. This is my second trip to Vegas. We arrived around 11am and had no problems with check in. We asked for a room with a view of the Bellagio fountains and were given that room. We were on the 21st floor and had a great view. Room was big and as with all PH rooms the bathroom was HUGE, for a hotel room. I loved that they hade a separate tub and a walk in shower. Our room was clean and we had no issue with noise or anything like that. I mean come on, you don’t go to Vegas to relax, you’re there to party and have a good time. If you’re in bed by 2am you went to the wrong place to go on vacation.
Ahh.. the construction….No reason for anyone to complain about that. Look up and down the strip, there is construction going on EVERYWHERE. No problems with that. I don’t play slots but my wife did see won some money. I play craps won some money but left it all there..ahh well…It happens..
Now it’s time to speak about the pool area. If you like to spend time by the pool drinking, stay away from the PH. They need some major help in the area. Don’t get me wrong it was clean; .but there was nothing there to enjoy. Two small pools and good luck finding a shade.
The rooms, hotel, and food are all ok. Would I go back? Yes, but I would look around before I go back. Stay here and you should enjoy your stay.

We asked for a strip view upon arrival as it was our 35th anniversary. After walking miles to our room, we received a south view room instead of a Belagio fountain view out a VERY dirty window. We returned to our room at 3 a.m. and were awakened at 7:30 by construction on our floor! You've got to be kidding - this is Vegas! Asked for another room and had to waste 2 hours waiting to move. Would not stay again - nothing special at all - except the large 2-person bathtub.

We chose this hotel because of the location. So glad we did. We arrived late Sat. so we didn't get an updated room. But there was 3 of us and it suited our needs plus just around the corner from the elevator. Employees were friendly and we enjoyed playing in the casino. We ate at the buffet twice and enjoyed the large selection. . The only show we saw was Love and were not disappointed! The information I got from this site was a big help.

Stayed at the Planet Hollywood Hotel in Vegas for three nights in September, at a corporate rate of $149 / night. Requested a renovated room overlooking the Bellagio, and upon checking in was granted the request. However, the window in the room was quite small and we could not see the fountains without standing up directly in front of the Window.

The renovations to the Casino are complete, and it looks fantastic. Very hip and trendy and a marked improvement over the Aladdin design. The miracle mile shops are still under renovation, as are some of the guest rooms. One room on our floor was still under construction, and we did hear some noise in the mornings, but nothing unbearable. I did feel however that the renovations may have been a bit rushed, for example the Flat Panel Television in our room was mounted crooked and the magnets that held the "closet' door closed was already broken. The bathroom was large, but very plain looking. One note, the toiletries were in these hard plastic bottles that made getting the liquid out of them nearly impossible.

Housekeeping staff was very accommodating, and had no problem making up our rooms twice a day after our pre-dinner naps/showers. We did request robes in the room, and was told they would put a $50 deposit on my credit card until they were returned; which I found a bit insulting.

The pool is hideously ugly, and probably one of the worst on the Strip. If you like to lounge by the pool during the day; i would not recommend this hotel.

My biggest complaint however, had to be the voice mails left by the Hotel each day advertising their shows and buffets (which was not good, I would avoid). How tacky can you get?

Other than that, we had a great stay, and would not hesitate to stay there again, given the hotel's proximity to the other casino's on the strip and decent prices.

Checked in Early Friday morning, for a fun weekend with the girls... Room was nice, bathroom is big and clean, overall the amenities were nice. Closet is a little small for 2 ppl, but not a big deal. Staff was very friendly and is def. worth the money paid. Hotel bar near the casino was fun, music keeps atmosphere upbeat, and restaurant food was good. We had an easy cab ride to all the other casinos/clubs we wanted to go to, all in all it was fun times! I will definitely come back and stay at Planet Hollywood for a 3rd time.. :)

  • Liked — Close to everything and upbeat atmosphere 24/7
  • Disliked — Not enough light in rooms, bathroom has no fan.
