Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall

The hotel has a bowling alley, movie theater, a few restaurants, and their big waterfall attraction. It's off the strip and the shuttles only run to freemont and Harrah's, and the last one back is around ten at night. Traffic can get pretty bad if you have to keep driving to the strip and back. There's not much around this hotel, so I hope you like to gamble if you stay here. They do clean the rooms quite well, however. No free internet though, and I believe the costs are about $8 per hour, $30 for three days, and $50 a week. Not worth it! There are plenty of hotels out there with free internet.

We were passing through Las Vegas on our way to Utah & my parents have always told me to try Sam's. Well we stayed Sun Oct 24th & the room was only $30!! Couldn't beat it. The casino is quiet & the rooms are comfortable. I'd suggest this hotel especially if you're trying to get away from the strip & the choas or even if you're just passing through Vegas.

We attended a reunion here so really didn't have a choice, however, the rates were good for mid-week stay. Nothing fancy at all. Taxi from airport was $35 one way [w/tip] but only $25 return trip [w/tip]? The catered dinner was good and presented nicely in one of the banquet rooms. Gambling was a bust here- we took the free shuttle downtown then city bus to the strip where we won some jackpots. Overall, it was okay for the short time we were there. I prefer the strip. Rooms were clean - bed was hard - pillows were like rocks.

We just happened upon this place, after touring around Nevarda & Arizona, our intention was to stay in one of the larger Hotels on the strip. We just popped in Sam's Town for a couple of drinks & a few hands of blackjack. The people were so friendly , the place was very clean and tidy, so we decided to stay a couple of nights. The room rates are extremely reasonable. Will definately stay again

I stood here while visiting las vegas. It was a good room at a very good price. Not nothing fancy- but was good enough for me- since I didn't stay a whole lot of time in it anyways. I love the mystic falls show. I also liked that it had Dunkin Donuts there.

We've stayed at Sam's Town several times. We appreciate the quiet location away from the strip. If you use their gambling card, you can get some very good deals on rooms. We paid about $67 for Sat. night and Sun. was free. For that price we had a very nice 2 queen room with a view of the mountains. They have a free shuttle that will take you to the strip or to downtown (Fremont St) but we didn't use it this trip. This was just a short trip for us, and we elected to just stay in this hotel. Sam's Town has almost everything anyone could want. Low end restaurants like at a food court and higher end like a steak house and others between like TGIFridays, etc. Bowling alley, bingo hall, and movie theatre are there also. The park like setting is lovely and is like being outdoors exept climate controlled.

In 2008 there was a review stating that it wasn't a good idea to get sick at Sam's Town, because of an alleged lack of support and assistance from the hotel staff.

I am pleased to report a quite different experince last week. On our second night my friend came down with severe abdominal cramps and bleeding. When I notified the front desk, security personnel were there within two minutes. After evaluating the situation, they made an immediate call for emergency support, which arrived within five minutes, after which it was determined that my friend should be transported to ER at a nearby hospital. She was administered several tests, after which she was discharged from ER. Sam's Town security not only transported us back to the hotel, but also later drove me to a nearby pharmacy to pick up her needed mediations. Fortunately, she was suffficiently recovered the next day to be able to play and even win a jackpot on video poker!

While it is best never to get sick, I can't adequately describe how impressed I was with the responsiveness of the hotel staff, especially security, in our time of serious concern.

We have stayed at Sam's Town for many years, and, hopefully, will stay there for many years. to come.
