“Sam's Town, Las Vegas”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall is location on the Boulder Highway southeast of downtown. It is centrally located for everything on the East side of town and close to the football stadium. We think the location is better than the Strip or Downtown. Not as busy with traffic.

We find the rooms large and comfortable. The rooms are quiet and roomy, however, they do not have refrigerators or microwaves. That is what the main floor of the Casino is for. There are plenty of restaurants and a buffet for those that can't resist.

The people at the hotel side are friendly and efficient. We stay here frequently and always enjoy ourselves. We would recommend Sam's Town to our friends.

The room rate are great compared to the rooms on the Strip.

Room Tip: The smoking rooms are on the 9th floor I believe. The second floor is the main entrance from the ga...

we stay at Sams once a month, and have never been disappointed. The staff are wonderful. Rooms are comfortable although could use some updating. Buffet and Deli are great value. Love that there is a Dunkin Donuts! After many years staying on the strip, we are glad we have found the Boyd propertys. Comps are the best.

We stayed for 5 nights for Santa convention. Plenty of options for dining. The laser show in the atrium was entertaining and can be viewed from the patio of several restaurants as well as the balcony on the 2nd floor. Bowling alley, theater, pool and spa offer alternatives to casino. Rooms were well maintained, bed was comfy, room service available from TGIFridays, Staff was friendly and helpful. If you arrive late in the evening, (9pm) be aware the room you reserved may be gone. We got stuck in a smoking room because that was all that was available when we arrived. They offered to move us the next day but we didn't want the hassle of moving all our stuff. Over all a very pleasant stay.

We came to Sams to gamble at the recommendation of a shuttle driver. We had a blast. It is an older crowd but it is nice and relaxed. We were staying on the strip so it was great to retreat from the craziness for awhile. There is also a movie theater and a bowling alley inside if you are tired of gambling

Our last Stay was our fith time staying here at Sam's Town and was in Feb! We find that you get more for your dollar then anywhere else. We found the Property to be very clean inside and out. They have friendly staff that make you feel like home. With all the food outlets in Sam's Town we found the food and service was great. We will be staying here again on our next trip later this year.

Thanks Jim & Terry

Overall, this hotel is a bit outdated but offers a very good value for your vacation dollar. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were pleased with the basic room. The breakfast area is dark and in need of updating - the food and service was perfectly adequate and reasonably priced. They offer dining deals (prime rib dinner) but beware ... You must have a gambling card to g et these deals. The hotel is a few miles to the Strip but it was quite easy to drive into town. Shopping is also close to the hotel. Would we stay here again? Yes, definitely!

I just got back from taking a short 3 day trip to Vegas and stayed at Sam's Town. I chose this hotel as I had been there before and like the property. The price was right, $26 a night, plus 2 free breakfast buffets each day, and a free shuttle to Harrah's on the strip and Fremont downtown. There are several different restaurant choices...TGIF, Food Court, Steakhouse, and Firelight Buffet. I really enjoyed the lovely Mystic Park area and Water show (free). You can just sit and relax or read or whatever in the open atrium with running streams and water falls. You feel like you are in a park. There are some retail shops, bingo parlor, movie theater and bowling alley. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the Casino! Clean smelling and very neat. ALL the staff was so courteous and when we needed anything, our request was promptly answer. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a nice, clean, friendly establishment that isn't down on the noisy strip area. Our room was VERY clean (as well as the hallways) and even though it didn't have a view of the atrium, we had a great view of the mountains. Super Walmart and a Walgreens within walking distance. Check it out!
