I was here for a 2 night stay for a work conference. I felt like the Rio is the blue collar version of the better hotel/casinos. All of the staff were very nice. The location is off strip so getting other places requires a ride.

Casino - I only played a few games but the casino floor seemed like every other casino floor during the day. I was not out there at night to see how alive it was but I assume night would have been similar to daytime. Overall I was happy with casino but my time spent there was minimal.

Hotel - I stayed in the Masquerade Tower. The signs to find this place are not the best so it was a little trial and error. I spent most of my time in my hotel room working (when I was not at a convention or on the casino floor) so this is where I was hoping the Rio would excel. The room is very below what I expected. The Rio was not cheap so I expected it to be similar to the other places I have stayed (Flamingo after the remodel, Encore, MGM, Aria, Vdara). It was definitely lower class then all of these. It felt like it was from the 80s or 90s and it felt a little motel-ish. The bathroom was old - old shower, old wallpaper, no garden tub, a little moldy, the shower did not get very hot. There was a dressing area/make up area outside the bathroom which I did like. The room was weird. There was a large couch that had no view of the TV. The light fixtures and furniture were old and scratched/tarnished. The bed was just fine as were the pillows. AC was fine. Finally the room service was good but the menu sucked. For people traveling for work we like to have a better menu to chose from. God forbid a piece of fish be offered. And they know they will have business travelers because they have a convention center.

So overall I would not choose to stay here again. I would not recommend this place to a friend.

Would have given it 5 stars, but the fact it is off strip and we had to rely on the Total Rewards Jitney to get us to and from the strip was a pain. However, the room, casino, and buffet at the Rio were all great!

We also received a great comps (thanks to our "donations" to the casino) and if we were comped again, we would stay again. Otherwise, it would be worth it to me to pay a little extra for the convenience of being on the strip.

We stayed at this hotel simply for the reason that we get it comped with our Total Rewards points. Thought we would give it a try. Very Impressive. Check in was crazy long ! That was the only down fall of the hotel. This hotel is slightly off the strip, which was nice for a change because drinks and food are much cheaper. Our room was very large. Much larger than other Vegas hotels that we have stayed. Pools were great. No long line ups and fighting for a pool chair like The Flamingo. The Buffet was unlike many of the other hotels. Everything you could think of. The rows of food went on and on. A bottle of wine was only 12.00, you sure don't find that on the strip !

Room Tip: We had a basic room, 2 queen beds. It was much nicer than we anticipated. We were on the 11th floor...

If you are a Caesars Total Rewards member and are of Platnium or higher tier, most likely you have received offers for free or substantial savings even during peak times. The hotel rooms are spacious and convenient. If you are like most Vegas goers, you don't really spend that much time in the room. The standard level of rooms are the Deluxe Studio Suite and the Premium Studio Suite. Botha re very similiar, it depends on which floor and tower youa re in. I always elect to stay in the Ipanema tower myself. There is a Starbucks convieniently located just before the bank of elevators, if you need a morning fix. The rooms have a mini bar fridge, if you need any of the overpriced hotel snacks and also an empty fridge that you can stock with all of the beverages of choice. I am a Coca Cola person and the Caesars' properties are Pepsi friendly, so I always bring my own. It is also nice to stash your leftovers for a late night early morning snack ;) there is a sofa sleeper if you are need for a guest to crash. The bathroom area has two sinks, one located in the bathroom with shower/tub combo and toilet and one in the vanity section. This is handy if two people are getting ready, one can be showering and the other can be styling hair or applyting makeup. The gym is nocely appointed, typical of hotels, a few treadmills, elipticals, bikes and various work machines targeted for arms and legs. The spa is small but quaint, I like the secludedness of the jacuzzi, the steam rooms needs updating.

We fequent Las Vegas at least once a year and we always visit or stay at the Rio. We are not looking for a 5 star resort when we go there. Just a clean room to crash in. The atmosphere at the Rio is awesome. There is a pizza and wing place right off the sportbook that we always visit. Its pretty delicious. Also when we stay there we like to walk to the casino next door (for some inexpensive craps) and we also like to walk to the Palms.

Room Tip: One tower in the hotel is newer than the other. I can;t remember the name but its the tower farthes...

Booked for 5 days, wish I had stayed somewhere else, Arrived before check in time and was told that I could check after 1:00 pm for a $10 fee. Plus tax. Mandatory resort fee of $22.40 per day had no idea until informed at check-in, this is for wifi on 1 device and fitness center. the bed was comfy, however I am afraid to sit on the sofa, it doesn't look that clean. the parade in the sky is no longer going on. the restaurants are expensive and the food is good. Breakfast buffet is $24 breakfast in cafe is $17, They got me on the first morning, visited the casino/ hotel next door, the Gold Coast and found breakfast buffet for $10.00, For the money we spent, we could have done better.
