Vegas was our first stop on our honeymoon and seeing the Grand Canyon was a MUST! I had done tons of research on helicopter tours before we arrived in Vegas, but we hadn't booked anything yet. We actually stumbled upon a Maverick ticket stand in one of the hotels and made our reservations for the next day. The Maverick team picked us up from our hotel in a bus...we made two additional stops to pick up people and then went to their offices. We were weighed and split up into our helicopter groups and then led out to the copters. The next thing we knew, we were in the air! I was pleasantly surprised! The ride was so smooth and it felt like we were just hovering in the sky! Our trip took us over Hoover Dam, and then over to the Grand Canyon. We landed in the Canyon and had a little picnic snack with a champagne toast. It was a little rushed, but we did have time to eat and drink and take photos. Then we loaded up and were off. We stopped again in the middle of the desert to refuel and then headed back to the Maverick offices via a fly by the vegas strip. Overall, it was AMAZING!! Something we'll never forget and most-likely never do again! I can't remember the name of our pilot, but he was amazing! Very informative and friendly! I was nervous because we had a very small child in our group, but he did so well on the flight and didn't make a peep. Do the tour! You will not be sorry! It was the trip of a life-time!

Took a Skywalk tour with them. Everything was good besides of the fact nobody warned us to take warmer closes. It was hot in LV though quite windy in GC.

We booked a helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon from Vegas with a return fly over the strip. We were picked up from our hotel at the agreed time and taken to the airport to check in. It was very professional and well organised down to trying to sell an audio and video of the whole experience for about $80 on top of the price of the trip. Our pilot Riley looked about 21 and we were joking that he looked far too young to be flying a helicopter. He was however very charming and knowledgeable and flew us with no problem near the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the West Rim of the Canyon. Now I know people say this is not the real Grand Canyon, but unless you are up for a full day bus trip out to the GCNP South Rim, then the West Rim is for you, it is more expensive but is only about 3 and a half hours from door to door leaving you the rest of the day to enjoy other sightseeing things in Vegas. I don't think we would have got any more out of it if we were to travel all day to spend 3 hours in the South Rim looking at the canyon rather than the short time we spent there in the West Rim unless you are very very interested in finding out everything about the rock formations etc. etc. as surely, it all looks the same once you see one part of the Canyon. Sorry if you are offended by this statement... Once 'in' the Canyon, we had some cheap 'champagne' and some pre packed pastries when we landed in the 'canyon' and a chance to take pics....not much time, only enough to take pics, have a plastic glass of champers and eat a cheap cinnamon roll before we were summoned to get back in the helicopter to fly back to Vegas by the pilot in front as we were flying in convoy. It didn't feel like we dropped very low into the 'canyon' either, just probably enough to get the best pics with the biggest back drop closest to Vegas so shortest (cheapest ) flight (cynical I know) Negatives for me are, 1- didn't really fly OVER the Hoover Dam, just a quick glimpse from afar...2 - only a quick far away glimpse of the SkyWalk 3 - it did have the feeling of us being rushed from start to finish 4 - very expensive 5 - you don't really fly back over the Strip but near the Freeway I think so not brilliant view 6 - no bathroom break so make sure you go before you leave Vegas. All that said, we had a great time and I can now tick it off my bucket list. Any questions just ask.

We flew with Maverick Helicopters at the West rim of the canyon. We hired a car from Vegas and it was an easy drive to the Canyon. I was very nervous as it was my first time on a helicopter but the pilot put me at ease straight away. You hover not high from the ground for about 2kms and the all of a sudden the ground disappears and you are in the canyon. The pilot follows the canyon between the red rocky walls and after approx 15 mins we landed about three quarters of the way down. We got out and took some amazing pictures of this beautiful place. It was very hot when we went and the water looked a golden colour. The tour took about 45 minutes altogether and it was well the worth the drive.

Our guide, Ed, set us up with a 50 minute helicopter over the Grand Canyon. There were 8 of us in the helicopter and we could all see the wonderful views. The pilot was knowledgeable about the areas and we flew all over the canyon viewing the grandeur of the landscape. We bought the photo they took getting on helicopter as a memento. Recommend taking the 50 minute ride. We originally were signed up for 30 minutes but you really need more time.
