I read a lot of reviews for Grand Canyon tours prior to this trip. My boyfriend and I were initially going to do one that was about half the price. But after reading about Grand Adventures Tours it seemed like it was worth the extra money, and it was well well worth it.
While waiting to be picked up I received a phone call that they were on there way. Once they arrived Alfonso introduced himself and the other couple he had picked up. We then picked up another girl and went to pick up another couple who ended up canceling last minute. So it only ended up being 5 of us on the tour. Alfonso kept the conversation going the entire trip. He was very knowledgeable and provided a wealth of information for us.
The drive was long but the views were great and there were plenty of stops. Van was comfortable. The initial view of the Grand Canyon is absolutely breathtaking. We got to spend plenty of time taking in the views. The lunch they provided was great and we got to eat while looking out on the canyon. After lunch we walked to different points. All along the way Alfonso took pictures for everyone in the group. He is a great photographer! He knew exactly where to stand for the best pictures. Really helpful and something you wouldn't get in a large group tour.
We watched the sunset. It was a little cloudy but still beautiful.
We stopped at a little gift shop where we were walking around but they didn't have what we were looking for. Alfonso took us to a larger store before we left.
All together, the trip was an amazing experience. I've always wanted to see the Grand Canyon and it was definitely worth it, just a beautiful, breathtaking place. But to add to it was the experience we had with Alfonso and the others on our tour group. Alfonso is fascinating and has a great story to share. He was so kind and attentive to the whole group. He spoke 5 languages and there was a couple there that spoke mostly Spanish. Most of the facts he told us in English, he translated to them in Spanish.
We ended the day feeling like we spent the day with friends and were sad to leave them. Going from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon is a long trip, it was worth every penny to spend it with a tour group as great as Grand Adventures. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
