“Don't expect to take a Hot Shower - Ever”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

On my several visits I never had more than a lukewarm shower (even after running the shower for 20 minutes before use).I'm told the Boiler needs to be replaced and there are no plans to do it. For a Resort of this type and their prices I find it totally unacceptable and would never pay full price and will only go with a Casino Comp.
As for the facility itself. Spacious, excellent professional staff, superior Massages ( I had Ron - and I highly recommend him), All of the amenities that you would want, overall clean (with the exception of minor mould in the showers - that I reported).
This is also a very dated low use facility, which can be good and bad. If you like a massive spa relative to yourself - You have arrived; If you like a modern contemporary spa - don't even consider this one.

“Love this hotel even though it has its pro and cons”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

Pro beautiful mountain views, Con (and imho pro) not by the strip
Pro Spacious rooms with big w/i closet, large bathroom with large tub, balcony and if u check in early enough some rooms have great views Con somewhat outdated and maintenance required on items in rooms. They converted their refrigerators to chill fridges so you cannot store anything
Pro excellent front desk Con A little walk to the parking lot although they have
Pro Food from room service is very good and quick Con they add automatically 20% gratuity plus a delivery charge
Pro No smoking in the hotel proper Con they blow scent through the hotel
Pro Have on site limousine service and car rental so you dont have to go to the car rental at the airport which is inconvenient, Also has various shuttle services to airport and shopping Con not close to airport
Pro Has a starbucks and spa Con the breakfast restaurant and the buffet we have tried were terrible
Pro Really nice pool Con Weddings go on so access can be blocked.
Pro Resort fee is optional Con Wifi costs 10 per day

Overall for what you pay I think the place is great.

“A ONCE BEAUTIFUL SPA IS NOW HORRIBLE”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

I am a resident of Las Vegas and frequented this spa regularly. However within the past two years this spa has rapidly gone down hill.

I will start with the service. Once very good, now it is appalling. Once you check in at the front desk, which is less than friendly, you will proceed to women's spa. When my friend and I entered, at 2:00pm in the afternoon, the lights were off and there Watson one behind the desk to check us in. We waited several minutes until someone finally came downstairs, looked annoyed to see us, and then very curtly checked us in, gave us our uncomfortably hard spa slippers and then pointed to the locker rom and said lockers are through there you can pick any one you want.

Usually the spa attendant would have taken us to our lockers, but not this time. Thankfully I had been there before and new how to use the lieu lock on the lockers and could show my friend the facility, but I was very embarrassed for having chosen this spa.

'My friend and I arrived about 45 minutes before our service so we could relax and enjoy the facility. Unfortunately two of the rainforest showers were not working and the other one was left running constantly making it he pool area very noisy. I, and one other guest attempted to turn it off, but could not. The whirlpools looked dirty and the area around the whirlpools was littered by the smelly remnants of someone's lunch. Towels were all over, the tiles looked moldy and again there was no employee in sight.

The spa used to supply toiletries like razors, mouthwash, shampoo and tampons, but no more. Now all I saw was a half empty bottle of lotion and wash clothes on the counter and as stack of towels for the showers.

One of the reasons I really enjoyed this spa was that about 10 minutes before your treatment you would be taken to the spa relaxation room which was dimly lit, with the sound of running water, and soothing spa music and aromatherapy. It really helped to start the relaxation process before your massage or treatment, but this time, as our treatment time approached no one came to take us to the relaxation room. I finally tracked down an attendant and she looked puzzled when I asked if we could go to the relaxation room and she seemed to want to ask someone else, but I said we can go up ourselves, which we did. Unfortunately when we arrived upstairs, the therapists were already there and took us directly into our treatment rooms. Needless to say I began my massage upset, not relaxed.

The massage I received was good, not great, but it did help to relax me. When we were done, we had no desire to stick around and left.

I was very disappointed at how this once wonderful spa has declined. I think the facility should be renovated to more modern decor and thoroughly cleaned. The service should be restored to the way it used toe be. Attendants should be present, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I would really like to return to this spa, but will not until it provides better service.

“Nice hotel and casino”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

Very nice and pleasant hotel. The casino was clean and the sportsbook was very cool. I'll stay here again if I get the chance. I liked the Irish pub a lot. :-)

“Great hotel in Vegas”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

We stayed at the JW Marriott in LV on Oct 7 and 8. We found the hotel to be beautiful, the grounds gorgeous and the room was very clean and extremely comfortable. One day we had the buffet breakfast included as part of our package. The buffet was excellent. Food quality was very good. The 2nd day we traded the breakfast buffet for the resort fee which allowed us to enjoy the spa facilities - steam rooms, weight room, etc, which we really enjoyed. There are other restaurants at the hotel which are part of the casino. We ate a couple of meals at the Irish style pub. Good food at good prices.

Contrary to another review, I found this casino to be one of the least smokey I have ever been in.
There are only a couple of things bad I can say about the hotel.

1. One must purchase the resort fee ($24 when we were there) to use the exercise facilities. Exercise facilities should be available to all guests.
2. My checkout bill was way out. I was charged for several items which were already included in the package I bought. So read your bill carefully

I do not hesitate in recommending this hotel.

(Word to the marriott manamgement - there should not be an extra charge for using the fitness facilities)
