My husband called in for this free vacation offer when he heard the advertisement on the radio by Tanya Roberts. He did not realize we had to sit through a possible horrible sales experience. After reading some of the bad reviews is was begging him to try and cancel but he said let's give it a try.
Well, I'm glad we stuck it out. I know some of you had a bad experience but for us it was fabulous. First of all let me say, that we followed all the rules. We are married and had 2 forms of identity with us. We lucked out all the way around. The hotel they put us at was the Las Vega Renaissance which is a Marriott property. If you look at it online, you will see that it is a fabulous hotel, clean, new, contemporary, friendly and quiet (non-gaming), which was perfect for us. It was off the stip and located by the Las Vegas Hilton/Convention Center, again, okay by us. We checked in with the Tahiti Village gal at the desk and all went smoothly. She gave us all the coupons and gifts that were promised. The next day, the very nice complimentary shuttle took us to the Village. Again, we must have gotten lucky by getting the sales rep that we did, but after we explained that we really didn't do much travelling and that we were basically only there for the free trip, he said "well this probably isn't for you, but let me just continue my presentation and show you around because it's my job to do so". And that's all he did. Again we must have gotten lucky because even when his boss came by and lowered the price of the timeshare and we told him we weren't in a financia position to purchase he said okay and left us alone. Too easy. I was relieved. We got out of there with no hassles and still had another day to enjoy ourselves. Our sales rep Sam, took us downstairs where they had our deposit credit waiting and we were on our way. Our bill at the Renaissance hotel was ZERO. There had been a $50 per day deposit put on there also but was credited upon our check out.
From what we saw, T.V. was very nice and if we were in a position to travel more we may have even bought. There were giving 12 weeks of timeshares away at different places for a low cost per week for life and other prizes like free timeshares weeks in Europe etc. But that didn't include airfare or incidentals, so I'm sure few people would even take advantage of the freebies. The condos were very very nice. But a word of caution, I wouldn't sign anything without knowing ALL the details of exactly what you're buying.
So for us it was great, for others I see it was not so great.
Good luck,
Hope this review helps. 3 nights at the nice hotel we stayed at probably cost $600, we stayed for free.
1 more tip if you do go, we had the shuttle drop us off at the Riveria so that we could redeem our Comedy Show coupon and then get our ticket for the show at the ticket booth.

We found our rooms on expedia for, what I though was excellent, only $85 a night. Check in was at 4:00 pm, we had arrived around 1:00 pm and had no problem getting a early check in. The couple we were traveling with had reserved the larger suite which is connected buy a lock-off door to our smaller Moorea suite. They were able to put our rooms next to each other no problem. When we got to the rooms, our room had the most foul sewage smell ever, but within 15 min. of calling the front desk, a bellman had brought us keys to our new rooms exactly one floor up. Those rooms were just fine. That was the only glitch of the whole trip. Everything was very neat and clean. Lots of space. Our rooms were handicap accessible, meaning there was no bath tub, but we liked that. Shuttle was very convenient, drops you at Tropicana, Treasure Island, and Riveria. Pool area is great, but there is only one hot tub and it always had someone in it. The pool closes early at 10:00 pm.
As for the people selling the time share. we were never bothered when at the hotel itself, but beware, they have sales people everywhere on the strip!! Those are the people who give this place a bad name. It's a littlebit of an over kill.
And for all the people who are pissed that they were foolish enough to get suckered into the sales pitch. Get over it!
Something for nothing isn't ever free. You wasted our own time being gullable. Just tell them no thanks and get on with our vacation.

We called to reserve our room after hearing about it on one of the radio talk shows. It was the Bond Girl that pushed us to try it out. What a mistake. High pressure sales pitch. What part of NO don't you understand ?? My family was harrassed because we did not want to spend the extra money to buy into their style of marketing.

The rooms were at least clean, but the appliances were clearly used goods. Considering this place is fairly new, we found a 2002 Refrigerator in our room.

Even with the free show tickets, we would never try this again.

We stayed one week through our timeshare exchange program. It was a great spot - close enough to the strip, but far enough to get away. The suite was beautiful, just as pictured. Very clean & new with granite counters & stainless appliances. Grounds kept very clean, the pool was lovely. Shuttle to the strip every 1/2 hour was very handy. Just say "not interested" to the fairly heavy timeshare sales pitch & they will leave you alone. Highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I were very pleased with our stay at Tahiti Village. We booked our room through hotels.com ($85 per night) and were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful and courteous. There was no pressure put on us to purchase a timeshare. The pool is large and there is plenty of room for sunbathing. There is a Denny's restaurant adjacent to the hotel as well as a new place called "Tahiti Joe's" which is a Tiki bar themed restaurant. (Try their ribs. They are out of this world!) The hotel is about two miles from the main part of the Strip. There is a complimentary shuttle that will drop you off at either Tropicana or The Riviera every half hour. Keep in mind that Tahiti Village is a relatively new place, so they are still working out some of the kinks. When we were there they were having some problems with key cards not working in the pool gates. The only other minor complaint I had was the hotel's proximity to the airport. There are jets taking off overhead continuously. Somewhat loud, but tolerable. We would stay here again. I'd give it a B+

Beautiful Place to stay. There were 6 of us, and we had a good time. Just 2 mins away from the strip. Was easy to catch the hotel shuttle to the strip otherwise getting a cab was not a problem either. Denny's was right next door for a midnight or early morning crave. The rooms were clean, complete with extra towels if needed. The view outside was awesome, felt like we were in Tahiti. We ended up cooking in the fully equiped kitchen.
We had a good time. We will definetly stay here again. Planning another trip already. :)

Reserved well in advance and called the day before to make sure reservations were solid, only to be told when arriving that a
"GLITCH" made our rooms unavailable. The staff was inept and the wait
was very long while they rerouted us to a "sister' property. We missed our show that night because of the horrendously long process (We were only in Vegas 1 night). The property they sent us to was decrepit and somewhat scary & lacked the number of beds we had reserved at Tahiti Village.

We booked thru Hotels.com and they were completely unhelpful in resolving the problem with the hotel. I had to spend several hours a day of my vacation in California talking to different reps before they would even agree to a price adjustment that would be equal to the rate for the substandard lodging we stayed in. They said to wait 30 days for the credit to be posted.....it's been 2 1/2 months later and I've received no credit.

DON"T book thru hotels.com - they'll leave you high & dry if there's a problem. And... DON'T count on a previously booked reservation at Tahiti Village!
