“It worked for us”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014

We chose the Platinum Hotel because of it being non-smoking and it being a suite. It was very large for the 2 of us. It was clean and for the cost it was well worth it. The high light was the valet guys Jimmy and Chris. (I hope you dad is doing better). They were able to give us a lift to a couple of places and it sure was better than a cab. Now I found out the reason cabs don't like the Platinum is that the valet guys know that cabbies like to "long haul" people and they call the cabbies on it. Its a double edge sword the hotel protects you, but then you cannot get a cab at all.

Service was basic. We ate at the restaurant on the 5th floor each morning. OK food, service could have been better. Why do I have to pour my own coffee??

Now all the reviews are correct. Its a walk to the strip and then the walking begins. Would we stay again? Maybe? Probably closer to the strip next time.

Thank you for the review. I am glad we worked for you and we will certainly take your feedback and look to act on it. I do know that taxis can be a challenge at times but I am also very happy to hear that the valet team took care of you. They do a great job. We will share with them. I do hope you consider staying with us again. Ask for me personally if you are ever contemplating it.

There is no point going to Las Vegas and staying in a bland characterless hotel like this. Sure there's a kitchen but your not going self catering for a weekend in Las Vegas are you? You don't need the huge room with seperate living room either. The balcony was only unique feature but it was very grim and grubby. The location is a bit off centre at a time when you really need be as close as possible to action. It was a walk before the walk began. I wished I had stayed at anywhere else along the strip. Location is more important than a hob and oven and American fridge freezer containing my one coke can. Daft pointless hotel.

We apologize that we did not meet your expectations. Our hotel certainly is not for everyone. Although as I understand it you were here to enjoy the strip, some guests prefer our location. It can be a nice calm and what some find as boring others may see as relaxing. Yes lots of guests enjoy our large over-sized rooms for weekends, but to fully take advantage of our condo-style hotel and all its amenities staying more than a few nights can be ideal. Again our apologies that we were not what you were looking for but I do feel we offer an amazing value and bang for your buck when compared to some of the smaller rooms you find on the strip.

We stayed at the Platinum Hotel for 2 nights. What a wonderful place to stay. The staff are first rate. When we arrived we were frazzled and really worn out, the staff upgraded our accommodation to the most wonderful suite we had ever seen, we were made feel like we were special. I highly recommend this hotel not just for it's rooms but for the staff as well. Thanks for a great stay!

The best place to stay in Vegas, you're close enough to everything yet far enough from all the hustle and bustle. The pool is always open even in the winter months and their spa is amazing as well. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I always come here for all my Vegas trips because I'm balling on a budget, and they're always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend any legal college student to stay here. About 2-3 blocks from the strip, it's in the middle so you could walk either way. The kitchen is amazing, love the bathroom with the jets tub, and even the robes are nice. Two TVs, nice bed, clean sheets and even had utensils for bottle popping and getting tipsy. Yum! Stay here most definitely and call for discounts for their military friendly hotel.

Thank you for the great review. We do require you to be 21 or older and yes we will certainly welcome college students. We do appreciate the kind words and will share with the team. Please note this is a non-party, non-gaming, & non-smoking facility. We want to be your relaxation destination to get away from the craziness of the strip.

You can see the age of the hotel from the wear of the room. But still, this is an all suite hotel, the room is very big with kitchen and dining area. So the stay is comfortable. It is the service that really needs some improvement. For the three nights stay, we just needs clean towel everyday without cleaning the room. Not a single day they got right and finally took our own towel(quite different) away with hotel towel:)
The hotel is about 10 to 15 minutes walk from Bellagio Fountain. Will be quite hot during summer

Room Tip: Cornner room has more space and better view

Stayed 8 nights in a strip facing suite.. Fantastic.. Suites are very big, comfortable and well equipped. Great to have full kitchen and all appliances meant we could have breakfast at "home".. And good brewed coffee provided too.
Only one negative is the walk to the strip which means you have to "walk the gauntlet" of beggars and homeless past a few dark places.. Certainly not a place I would want my wife to walk alone. (In fairness, we had no trouble. But it's not nice either day or night.)
That said, we loved the place and will be back next February for sure..
The car Valet guys were very efficient.. All staff were extremely polite and professional..

Thank you so much for the review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. I do apologize for the concerns you encountered walking to and from the Strip. Good news is we continue to see new developments that keep upgrading the neighborhood. The old dry cleaner is now a souvenior shop, there are some developments further down Flamingo with a new Starbucks and new hotel construction, and also with the development of the Linq project we hope to see this side of the Strip continue to grow in a positive way.
