We stayed here one night for a weekend getaway for our wedding anniversary on 10/14. Nice, clean hotel off the strip. The front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The room was great. It was huge. It had a full kitchen, beautiful bathroom with a huge spa tub and a seperate shower. The bedroom was spacious and sheets and bed very clean. The living area adjacent to the kitchen was nice also. Our room had a view of the strip and a nice balcony with chairs and table. The bar downstairs was nice and our server there very nice. We ate breakfast here also and the food was great. The server was not in the best mood but Jose her helper was nice. The doormen were great also, always a smile and willing to help. The strip is about a 15 min walk not bad at all. We will be back!

Room Tip: The 5th floor has the pool and the restaurant for breakfast so it seemed like it might be a noisy fl...

Attended a convention at The Venetian, about a 15-20 minute walk on Koval, which was not a problem at all. Service at check in with Elena was very helpful and breakfast was very good. The "room" was double the size of any normal hotel room and had a full kitchen, balcony and laundry. Breakfast was very good and I thought the fitness room was well appointed. I had no trouble finding it after hearing that it was on 2nd floor.
On my last day I met Rooms Division Manager Derek on the elevator and he asked about my stay and took some time to listen to the details of my experience.

My husband and I decided to host our destination wedding in Vegas as soon as we got engaged. We had considered hosting our wedding& reception there, but in the end, decided to host it away from the Strip and at a country club. But because we had a great experience interacting with a few staff there, we decided that we wanted to reserve our block of rooms at the Platinum.

Prior to arriving, we had a really great experience working with the reservation staff in getting all of the rooms the way we requested for all of our guests. If our great experience had continued, this review would have gotten another star. However, upon checking into our suite, things slowly started going downhill. First of all, there weren't even enough towels in our room for everyone. And then we started to notice how dirty the room is. We noticed hair and other trash left by previous guests but figured it should be cleaned out the next time housekeeping clean our room. Apparently, they don't. The next day, same trash are still there...
If we only stay for a couple of days, maybe this review might be better, but we stayed for 6 nights, so a lot were observed. For example, only the beds were made everyday, and towels/toiletries replenished. They don't vacuum or make any other attempts to clean. No messages were given to us when our dry clean items were done or when our packages arrived. I constantly had to call or check the front desk in order to find out. My bridesmaids ordered room service on my wedding day as we were getting ready, and it was 1.5 hours late even though they were told it'd be ready by 30 mins. Apparently, room service forgot to place their order until 1 hour after it was placed, and instead of calling us to apologize for the mistake or to go ahead and comp the meal, they went ahead and made it and charged us for it. We called to cancel the order right before the order was sent up, which obviously didn't get canceled, and my bridesmaid had to go down to the front desk to get their meal comp. Annoying.

Overall, the suite is decent with okay beds and big bathrooms... and the full kitchen is super nice for people like us who stayed for a week, but the service was just not up to par for the price we were paying to stay per night. I was told that we'd be getting "vvip" status, and if that's indeed what we got, they need to seriously re-examine their hospitality standard. Oh and their valet-only parking situation was super annoying. Not only do you feel the need to tip even though it's "free" valet, if they aren't busy, they're friendly, but if they are, you could be waiting awhile before you get your car... or if you need to take a little more time to get in the car, you can't because the valet will not waste any time to ask you to hurry up and move. The reasons this hotel actually is getting 3 stars instead of less is because I honestly feel that we stay a lot less than a full week, our stay would have felt better. And we do love that it's a non-smoking, non-gaming hotel, which makes getting in and out of our rooms much easier and cleaner. And free WiFi.

Stay here for a weekend getaway if you want to be near the scene without all the people. Don't bother if you are looking for nice rooms with great service.

First trip to vegas. Originally booked at the belligo but after looking at trip advisor changed to the platnium. We saved over $1000 for our 6 night stay. Room was a princess strip view and was really big and spacious. It is a little walk to the strip but nothing major.
The money we saved on accommodation we have used to do other things around vegas.
Check in was quick with no quening unlike the big hotels. no casio on site so quiet and a real haven from the chaos of the strip.
Thanks trip advisor.

October 8-11, 2012 First trip to Vegas and we wanted a hotel just off the strip. From check in to check out the service at the Platinum was excellent. Able to check in early. .Surprised by the room size and amenities. No hidden fees. Would stay there again.

Buy a RTC bus pass and you can ride from the hotel to the strip and then transfer to buses traveling the strip. Cheap and not much walking.

I arrived at the hotel late on Monday and there seemed to be some problems with my reservation (made through booking.com). After 30 minutes of trying to figure out, even after looking at my reservation confirmation, the staff was really responsive to addressing the problem - they upgraded my room and sent up a bottle of champagne with their apologies for the delay. The next day I received a call still making enquiries related to the booking. Eventually they sorted through it.

The hotel is clean, well located and has some good views if you can get up high and overlook the strip. I ordered room service while at the hotel and found it to be quite tasty, and reasonably priced on both occasions (angus burger, scampi & angel hair pasta). They have a small fitness facility on the 2nd floor, which was tricky to find because all the hotel signs (from the elevator to the 5th floor signage) suggest its on the 5th floor. They moved the fitness facility but didn't change any of the signs - that's just weird :o)

The only parking thats available is via valet - but its free and I didn't have to wait when I gave them 10 mins notice. The wireless internet is free and offers decent speeds.

All in all I would definitely consider staying here again. Its nice being off the beaten path but close enough to access the strip. Everything on the strip is within walking distance (the closest hotel on the strip is Bally's).

Room Tip: Ask for 17th floor overlooking the strip if available.

The Platinum is not right on the strip, it is a long 1 block away but definitely within walking range. It doesn't have a casino, just peace and quiet when you need a break. We love the large suites with full kitchen and living room, but most of all we love the double wide jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. If you are looking for a nice get away with your honey I would highly recommend this hotel. I would also recommend you pay the extra for the strip view - it was actually very special to stand on the balcony and enjoy all the lights. It is one of my favorite places to stay because of the value for the money. The only negative was that there was occasionally a dripping sound in the walls - I'm thinking maybe from the air conditioning.

Room Tip: Go for the strip view on a higher floor if you can.
