We had stayed at the Platinum before for a family reunion trip, and was pleased with the good service and great rooms. Thought we'd try it again this time, and although there were many options (including on-strip hotels), I worked with Nathan in making room reservations and he made the booking process so convenient and smooth that we went ahead with staying at the Platinum again. There is something to be said about professional and excellent customer service- Nathan clearly cares about representing the hotel well. Nothing was overlooked in our room reservation process- everything went as smoothly as we had hoped when we checked-in (my pet peeve is when the hotel staff has communication problems and we don't get the room type we expect- thankfully, this was not a problem here!).
Anyways, upon staying at the hotel again, we were not disappointed! Despite being pretty busy, the hotel front staff members were excellent and efficient (it's amazing how so many hotels don't get this correct- given how front desk service can really affect guests' hotel experience). The rooms were very LARGE and clean (everything still seemed new and in great condition, despite it being another year of wear-and-tear with Las Vegas guests). We were traveling with our son, and it is SOOO much better to have the separate bedroom/living room areas so that we could have our privacy. And with the fully functional kitchen- we were able to easily make breakfast in the morning. Also, the view of the strip from our room was fantastic! Lots of usual Las Vegas strip lights, and my son especially loved seeing the monorails go by.
The hotel is obviously run by good management who ensure that the rooms are well-maintained, and the front desk is running smoothly. We had no difficulty with valet parking at all- again, despite it being busy. During check-out, we were able to call down to the valet and put in a request for the bellman and valet. I think this helped with the valet experience being fine for us (I remember staying at one of the on-strip 5-star hotels previously and they didn't allow us to call down beforehand to valet- irritating!). Also, when we first arrived, my sisters had to rush to check in so that they could make it to the Jersey Boys show-- the valet guys were great in making sure that the car was in the front and ready to go when my sisters were- no delay and they made it to show on time. We ate in the downstairs restaurant, and honestly- it was just OK. Next time, we'd probably stay in the room and order room service (which worked well last time- not too expensive and decent food).
In summary, Platinum impressed us again- great rooms, excellent service, no resort fee, location near the strip...we'll be back! We just hope that the rates will remain competitive!
