“Great, relaxing place a short walk from the Strip”
Reviewed June 29, 2011

Wonderful, modern hotel, 2 block walk to the Las Vegas Strip. Very relaxed atmosphere, good place to come back to after a long night of gambling, clubbing, etc. Pool area was small but very nice and had a great view. Staff was nice and accommodating.

Thank you for the review and staying at the Platinum. Our sanctuary concept is to provide a relaxing getaway without the chaos of the STRIP, yet close enough to walk to. Thank you for recognizing our team and the service you received. We have a great pool overlooking the city that is your escape from the sensory overload of the STRIP. We look forward to having you back on your next Las Vegas trip.

This hotel is amazing value - a suite with full kitchen and balcony. Excellent value for families or couples. The rooms are clean and very quiet. Room service rates are reasonable. The door staff is wonderful and they have free valet parking which keeps moving fast (would prefer self park but oh well). The pool area was okay, nothing to write home about. The shades which people sit under in the pool area were ripped which made it look a bit old. Our only complaint is (and this is not the hotels fault) that it's a long walk in the heat to the strip and there is nowhere close by where you can grab a bite to eat (except 7-11). We had a car and had to drive everywhere and it took forever to go even three blocks due to the traffic. I liked this hotel but I think in future we would stay on the strip so we could walk to more restaurants, bars, shops etc. I prefer to be in the heart of things.

Room Tip: Found a rate 50% lower on Expedia!

Thank you for recognizing our team and the service you received. The awnings are being replaced as we had some sever damage from a recent windstorm. Expect to have them replaced within the next 10 days or so. And Annie and Charley are both outstanding! Looking forward to having you back soon!

Spur of the moment trip to Las Vegas with a girlfriend. Was disappointed that the Platinum Hotel was not on the strip, but it turned out not being a problem as it was only one block away and we could cut through Bally's if it was too hot out. From the get go the service was impeccable, from the bellman to the front desk, to the bartenders. :-) The flavored water in the lobby was a very nice touch as it was over 100 degrees when we arrived. The room was amazing (with a free upgrade to a strip view). The suite was beautiful and the full kitchen came in very handy to store wine and make breakfast. The beds were extremely comfortable but bring ear plugs as the city is noisy. Wed night in the lobby bar was free wine and great appetizers. The only downside was the service at the restaurant by the pool....it was extremely slow and they didn't make the best bloody marys there (It took 3 people to try to make it). The bartenders downstairs in the lobby bar (Charly and Annie) were much, much better. I definately will stay here again.

Thank you for your great review of the hotel and choosing the Platinum Hotel. As you noted, the hotel is just a short walk to the Strip. I sincerely appreciate the feedback regarding the pool. Correcting the “Bloody Mary” receipt right now. Looking forward to having you back on your next Vegas Getaway!

I recently stayed here with my spouse and 5-year-old child. We stayed here for 4 nights, for $109 per night. We felt that it was a great price for what we got. All rooms in this property are suites. We had a large room with a King bed, a living room with a sofa bed for our child, a balcony and a kitchen. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable, although a bit on the soft size. There was a large Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, as well as a separate shower.

If you book directly through the hotel website, check-out time is 2pm, which is a great perk. This is a non-smoking, non-gaming hotel, which makes it more relaxing than other options.

The staff was friendly and polite.

The cons are:

*You have to pay for wifi.
*The drapes do not close well, so it is quite bright in the morning. It is surprising how badly designed the curtains are.
*We heard some noise from adjacent rooms.
*We had to call to get linens for the sofa bed, even though we were told the linens would be set up already. You also need to call if you want pots and pans for the kitchen.
*The hotel is near the strip, but in the summer, it is too hot to walk the 10 minutes during the day, so you need to drive everywhere.
*The only way to park is to use the valet.
*There is not much of a lobby, and it is located behind a gas station, so it feels a little shabby when you first arrive. But the room is fine, so once you get upstairs, it is OK, since the room is great.

Overall, I would recommend it, especially for the price I paid. Next time, I think I'd rather be on the strip.

We drove from Bakersfield via Pimm (on the border from California, this has a terrific outlet mall which actually was better and less crowded than the outlet malls in Las Vegas) and found this great hotel. We had a 2 queen bed suite which was the same price as we would have paid for a rollaway and a normal queen bed room. Nice to have a separate bedroom from the rest of the room. On the 15th floor we overlooked the back of the Strip and could see Bally's and the Bellagio. You have a balcony with chairs and a table. Yes there is a power grid on the other side of the road, but it is the same multilane road which the other big hotels also face onto. We could not see this from our balcony. What was great about the Platinum was the helpful and friendly valet guys and the front desk people. The room had a kitchen and a full sized fridge (yeah), we rang downstairs and they brought up a set of cooking pots etc, then we headed down to the 7eleven next door bought eggs, bread and bacon and had home cooked breakfast each morning. This is a non smoking hotel (second yeah) and no gambling (third yeah..yes you can go to Vegas and not gamble in your own hotel). We were a block from the action which is fantastic as you dont have all the tourists and lights and noise on your doorstep. Headed out to the outlet malls during the day and then walked over to see the lights and M&M world in the evening. (visit M&M world, there is nothing you cannot buy). The wifi at the Platinum is good, actually a cable so I was able to answer lots of emails from work in the comfort of our room. The suite had a massive spa bath which was rather cool. We were very happy with this hotel and would highly recommend it.
Downstairs in the lobby they have home cooked cookies later in the day and also have a cheap tapas and drinks menu (unfortunately the 11 year old had to miss out on that bit).

Room Tip: book a 2 bed queen suite not a queen plus rollaway

Hotel is great. Rooms are new and modern in decor. It was great having a real balcony and the view of the mountains was great for us since we are from FL. Large suite made us feel very comfortable. I used the washer and dryer...they provide soap.

Staff was outstanding...truly good service and I usually stay in JW Marriott resorts and the like. Bathrobes proveded upon request, complimentary wifi which I used in the room to check on flights. Champagne and choclate covered strawberries delivered to room because we were getting married....made us feel special. Only downside was our room did not get serviced the day of our wedding so when we arrived "home" that evening, we walked into the suite still with dirty towels on the floor and the bed not made up. We called for clean towels and even though it was about 11pm, they were delivered promptly.

We used the huge double jetted tub every night and it was soothing after walking so much in the heat every day. There were no cabs avaialble when were checked out so they drove us to the airport in the hotel SUV...of course we still gave the driver $20, but it was much more pleasant than the usual cab! Room service was prompt and delicious and not outrageously priced.

We knew it was off the strip and we don't mind walking but I might not stay there again because of it. The hotel was new and beautiful. Pool area was nice and the loungers comfortable and had flags to hold up if you wanted drink/food. The windows on the pool deck with awnings for shade made it feel like an upscale resort. It was a wonderful stay and the staff fantastic....especially for the price we got on sniqueaway.com.
