We stayed over the 4th of July weekend. We where looking for a relaxing place to stay in Vegas away from the strip. The Red Rock was beautifully decorated throughout - from reception to guest rooms. The bedrooms where large, with great toiletries. We played bowling, and ate in the Grand Cafe, Yard House and Feast Buffet which where all of excellent quality. The pool area of the hotel was fantastic and where we spent most of our time, the loungers where large and very comfortable and with so many small pools, it never felt overcrowded. I would highly recommend his hotel to anyone looking for an off strip luxury hotel.

Stayed here because this is where the conference I was attending was held. Typically, I like to stay on the strip at the Cosmopolitan. However, this is a very nice hotel with spacious rooms, beautiful pools, several restaurants on site, and of course as the name indicates, a casino. Thus, unless you really need the strip, this hotel will take care of all your needs. It is just off the highway, so if you do want to visit the strip and have a car you can get there in about 20 minutes. There is also a shuttle, but I heard from other conference attendees that it was not easy to get (one can imagine that with many wanting to use it the waits can be long). My room was large, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom clean (and included a soak tub). The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is complimentary and abundant. For those considering holding a conference here, the meeting rooms were very nice. As a side note, the items on the minibar are weighted so if you pick something up for a few seconds you will be charged automatically then it is up to you to prove that you did not use or consume it.

Room Tip: rent a car or else you are stuck on site

2nd annual family trip to Las Vegas to attend the Star Search National Dance Competition @ the Red Rock Resort. This resort is in Summerlin which is approx. 25 minutes from the strip. The property is luxurious Vegas with everything a family could want, including 7 pools, a Regal movie theatre and a bowling alley. The casino is spacious and has all the typical games and lots of slot selections. The poker room is a good size and has games going 24hrs a day. Rooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. Only drawback is the very long walk to the room as the elevators are at one end, not in the middle, and the $60 cab ride to the airport if your departure doesn't coincide with the every 2hr shuttle schedule.

Room Tip: Request a room not to far from elevators unless you don't mind a LONG walk. Also, our room &quo...

Because of a highway accident (not involving us, thankfully), we did not arrive at the Red Rock until about 9:30 pm. We had to check out early the next day, so we did not have an opportunity to really explore the Resort. We did, for the most part, like what we saw.
The resort is very visually appealing, featuring reds and dark shades. Our room (at the end of the hall; fortunately neither of us minds a long walk before bed) was large and comfortable. The bathroom featured a soaker tub and premium amenities. And our view of the pools and mountains, even at night, was sensational. We regretted not being able to use the lovely pools.
The casino is large (albeit smokier than Strip casinos) and features a number of different restaurants and a food court. My husband played a game of bingo and the resort also has bowling alleys. I cannot imagine anyone getting bored at this resort.
And therein lies the rub. Clearly, because of the pools and bowling alley (and possibly other features), the Red Rock is popular with families. With children. We saw more children in the three hours between 9:30 pm and 12:30 am in the halls, the food court, the café, and walking through the casino than we did in the three days we stayed at the Mirage (I write this honestly believing that I am not exaggerating).
We liked the look of the Red Rock; we will recommend it to those who want an off-Strip experience. But we will advise that those looking to escape the kids will not do so here.

Our stay was 5 nights in June 2014. My rating is a 'soft' 4 stars. Overall our stay was a good one. We travel to Las Vegas often and have grown tired of the chaotic tourist trap of the strip. So off the strip we go....I liked the far more mellow tempo of RRR. We had a rental car ( you're crazy if you stay here without one) so visiting the strip or downtown was quite easy. Valet service here is top notch and very appreciated! I like the casino very much with its current and varied slot choices...and for me they were loose and fun! The food choices as well are varied and good..from food court to high end choices. I personally liked the Grand Cafe and found it priced right and good service. The room we were kindly upgraded to was stylish and had a good view of the canyon. It was mostly clean with minor missed areas and the housekeeping came early each day. Always tip your housekeepers...they earn it. The bathroom was very nice with robes and soaking tub. One complaint or warning I would pass on is the incredible distance from the elevators to the last rooms down the hall...literally the longest hall I've ever experienced. .so ask at check in where your room is in relation to the elevators! The other minor but worth mentioning concern was the abundance of children at the pool...we simply are not that kid friendly and found all the screaming and splashing to be a bit much...but also understand they have a right to a good time. Food and drinks at the pool were good and above average. Staff throughout were helpful though perhaps some, just some, of the waitresses at the pool were pretty much more concerned about their looks than with quality service. Overall a good experience staying here and yes we would recommend RRR to those looking for an off strip change of pace.

Loved RRC from previous stays but now we are wondering what happened to our once favorite? Arrived and waited to get a room for about 4 hours. Understandably since there was a dance nationals, but we left our phone # to get a text when our room was ready based on our request. Got a text after waiting for about 2 hours and it turns out that our room was given away when we got to the desk. What?? We thought the text was to hold our room, so what happened?? We talked to a guy named Juan who was not helpful at all and seemed to not calm our nerves. He told us that we would get another text when our room was ready. After about 2 hours, we still haven't gotten a text and so we decided to go to concierge, who was helpful in pointing us to the VIP room. There the lady was able to give us a room but not to our liking and request, but since we were tired and bitter, we just decided to accept whatever they had. We got to the room and the drain in the shower wasn't draining properly and we would get a puddle of water while showering. My wife tried to get another room after a day's stay and we were once again promised that we would get a room to our liking and would be called once ready. Guess what, nobody ever called us and when my wife called, they said that no room is available. What?? This place somehow cannot handle large crowds and do not have any protocols to take care of people en masse. We heard of other horrible stories while we are here still. Management needs to take heed or get fired!!

During our stay here at the end of June to July 2014, we thought this place was a HORRIBLE PLACE! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THINK TWICE BEFORE STAYING HERE!! Too bad because they place was our favorite!

Room Tip: Pool view is nice but the strip view isn't bad especially at night. Choose a high room but bewa...
