“Nice rooms o.k. restaurants”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2013

We were there at a busy time...A native american rodeo and then a gun show. In the late (after 10 pm)evening there was a lot of pressure on the elevators, so often a wait of several minutes. The rooms were spacious and clean. I would have liked a mini fridge and a microwave, though there's very little in walking distance to this casino. I was impressed by how quiet the rooms were. Very good for sleeping..Nice views of the mountains from the window.Make your first stop joining their club. It will help you using your funbook. We saw 2 great shows featuring Paul Williams..

Room Tip: get higher up they have express elevators that will bypass the lower floors and not slow you down..

I have stayed in Las Vegas many times and have never found a hotel that impressed me as much as the South Point. The hotel itself is stunning and just magnificent. The rooms are elegantly appointed and generous square footage lends the feeling of a grand suite. The bathroom is spacious and the beds are the most comfortable I have ever found while traveling. The food at the restaurants was equally stellar and I highly recommend the Mexican restaurant on the 2nd floor for a fantastic meal. All in all, the location is convenient to the airport and strip as well as the outlet mall if you have transportation and not locked in to staying directly on the strip. I found parking extremely convenient and it was a wonderful trip because of the accommodations. I will make this my hotel of choice whenever in Vegas in the future.

Stayed for a week for business. Room was big, nice TV. Service was reasonable, food at 3 restaurants (The Steakhouse, The Sushi restaurant and The Buffet) was edible but not something I would ever go back for. Towels were terrible, air conditioning system was impossible to change temperatures and my key kept failing. Price was great so all in all - an average place for a decent price.

This has been our hotel of choice for the last few years. Last November was the worst. But we have just returned and it was a very fun and enjoyable stay and the hotel was very accommadating along with comping several nights. We had lunch in the steak and shake, breakfast at the cafe and the garden buffet, and all were good. Buffet a little cold on occasion.

Room Tip: Lower floors, Higher numbers closer to elevators.

The South Point for our trade show was a hit with me. For me, restaurants were very good/excellent. I really enjoyed the Garden Buffet brunch on Sunday; the chef cooked an omelet for me like nothing at all. I even went back for seconds!!! Also, the "south point special" breakfast at the Coronado Cafe was excellent. My room was neat, clean and spacious. I have to admit the valet had me laughing: I asked him why it was so busy? He replied this is the National Indian rodeo championships this weekend. Are you here for the rodeo? I replied I'm from Massachusetts I've never seen a live rodeo in my life. Then he said, "Well your in the right place if you would like to check it out."

Room Tip: I liked staying on the 14th floor. There are 2 sets of elevators on the left floors 2-12, on the rig...

I stand back and look at the quality of the lodging, its accessibility and the price, and this place is hard to beat. It is a large facility so it has good restaurants, bars, other amenities, etc. But it is off the strip so a lot less pretentious. They are catering to those that want to have fun in Vegas without spending $$$$.
Bartenders were more relaxed that at other strip properties. Dealers maybe not quite as friendly. Front desk people were efficient but could have been a little friendlier as well. Wi-Fi in the room sucked. Should have tried the wired connection but didn't have the chance.
With a little extra training in customer service, this place could be great. For the price, it is definitely a good choice.

Room Tip: Views don't matter too much here as you are far enough away from everything that it doesn't...

A little surprised to see so many people miffed at the shortcomings of this place. We paid an extremely low rate for our room, so I wasn't expecting it to be like an on-strip property. Room was large, clean and comfortable.

Hotel had good food options and very low prices, I randomly got to see Debbie Reynolds in their showroom for next to nothing. Primarily Prime Rib was a well priced dinner place and Silverado Steakhouse was a nice upscale-ish experience.

Free shuttle to and from airport, free internet with resort fee of only $14, we never paid for valet so pretty sure that was free too. Bowling alley, movie theater, club, equestrian center (little stinky). I can't see what's to complain about given the prices. Great off-strip option.
