My husband wanted to visit this museum and I wasn't keen on going, but am so glad that I didn't say no. I learned so much about the cold war, and so many of the people that worked on so many nuclear projects all aimed at ensuring american freedom. The material is presented in an entertaining way -- although the aim is to educate. I'm not sure that young children would enjoy this site, but any adult - especially babyboomers - will apprecitate the curators' efforts.

The museum is wonderfully laid out in a type of chronological order. Descriptive information and artifacts/photos of early development to the present. As for the Area 51 exhibit, it is an eclectic blend of "hollywood kitsch" and informative docu-videos with intriguing stories from those who are intrepid enough to share it all????. The 51 exhibit is well worth the nominal extra price of admission. Make sure you go into both museum and exhibit.

My husband wanted to go, so I went. It was a lot more interesting than I expected it to be. The staff was very friendly, and it's a neat thing to do to beat the heat on a warm summer day.

You could easily spend an afternoon at the museum, and you should allow an hour and a half minimum. The exhibits are very interesting and professionally done. Way more elaborate than you would expect. Lots of parking and easy to find. A little pricey at $14, but we thought it was worth it.

The National Atomic Testing Museum was absolutely fantastic. It's comprehensive, well laid out and worth every minute. Plan on spending at least an hour and half there. Don't bother with the cheesy Area 51 museum. The displays on the plans were cool but the typos on the info displays make this museum look hastily put together. It might be cool for a school trip, l if it's not an English class.
