“A Great Golfing Experience”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

Whoever said this was one of the most underrated courses in the country was understating it.

Located in a gated community in Dorango, NV a 20 minute drive from Las Vegas, it is a scenic experience from the moment your car enters the driveway. There is ample parking with the club house a short walk from the parking lot. An attendant is there to add your bags to the back of a golf cart and have ready it out front after you check in. Staff is friendly and attentive.

The pro shop and restaurant are to the right and left respectively in a clubhouse of magnificent stone and wood. While waiting for the starter to give you the go-ahead to the first tee, you can play a small bucket of balls on the practice range which is usually too far off to play at other courses. It is right in front of the clubhouse.

The golf cart has a GPS that tells you exactly how far you are from each hole in yards, and the topper is an ice bucket on the side to keep beverages cold, It is also a tacit acknowledgement that golfers will sneak in their coolers which are usually forbidden on most courses.

The course is a panoramic and challenging experience. Dotted with palm trees there is always the view of majestic mountains on the horizon. Colorful plants and flowers add to the scenic beauty. The holes are a variety of par 3's, 4's and 5's that are nicely spaced apart without the annoying repetition of par three’s. The whole course is well-manicured and spotless right down to the bunkers. There are a number of water hazards that can bring out your hydrophobic impulses. Each hole demands power in your swing. There are four tee-off positions: tournament-level (or for those who think they are); the second is for men; followed by one for seniors, and then the women's. As with any course, each level is distinguished by a color marker.

Maintenance staff mowing the grass thoughtfully cut their engines whenever a player is nearby. A young woman comes around a golf cart periodically that is laden with alcohol refreshments, soft drinks and munchies at reasonable prices.

In addition to reasonable green fees we had a special that offered a breakfast before our tee-off and one after that included two free beers. Unexpectedly, the French fries were some of the best we ever tasted and the burgers were superb. Debbie had a chicken sandwich that was moist and tender.

Judging by the reviews, some golfers had a less than pleasant experience here. Rest assured my significant other and I are very discriminating and not easily pleased or impressed, and we were definitely impressed.

As an aside, we met “home-state" retirees from Albany, NY, who said they came there often, which was evident by the reception and familiarity between them and staff. They loved the course as much as we did.

This was a great golfing experience.

This course is abosultely beautiful. Got a $119 special that included greens fees, cart, breakfast, lunch, and two beers. Now come on, who can beat that?

“Great Deal”
Reviewed May 2, 2013

My group of 6 players spent a week in LV, and had the chance to play this course. It was in great shape, very playable, and one great deal. Along with range balls you get breakfast before you tee off, and lunch after your round plus 2 drinks. The food was very good and the price was also. If you play there sister course, Tuscany the same week, you get a 20% discount on their tee times. This course is also excellent, and they run the same special. We played these courses back to back, and it was the best golf of the week, and we placed some courses that were significantly higher in price.

“Great course”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

A nice course and the group loved every hole. It was in good condition and has some challenging holes but overall a great course to score low. Our entire experience from breakfast to finish was great. Enjoy.
