Excellent View of the Strip for Fireworks!

Review of Hotel Galaxy
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jun 18, 2017via mobile
Located off the strip but with parallel to the strip itself, the Hotel Galaxy offers an excellent view. This is Great for pictures and especially watching fireworks like on the 4th of July or New years eve!

Refrigerator in room that worked; microwave in room that worked; no xtra charge. yes the place is tired, close to freeway with the traffic noise, but for the price it was great, I needed the refrigerator for my medication. I wanted microwave foods for some of my meals. I am a older, single white male traveling by myself. Also local phone calls no charge. Internet but had to call vendor for the most current password, but the internet connect was fast enough to have to laptops connected at the same time with no buffering.

Room tip: better to have a room not facing freeway

Please please please do yourself a favour and do not stay in this alleged hotel. We stayed on 25th of March Room 114 for a few hours en route to the Luxor. Filthy dangerous and depressing are the only words I can use to describe this fleapit. The staff are great and that's the only positive. If I had seen the chalk outline of a body outside the room I would not have been a bit surprised. It's in a terrible part of town with down and outs and winos hanging around nearby. Close to a very busy motorway with traffic noise all night so no sleep. The door lock looks like it was bought in 1938 and doesn't lock properly. I was convinced we'd come back from the casino to find everything gone. have stayed in some dumps in my time but this place wins first prize hands down. (Pics Attached). It's on Dean Martin Boulevard but poor old Deano is turning in his grave. Check out the pool in the car park for a good laugh. Way better hotels in Vegas for less money.

Our number one priority is and always has been making sure each guest is treated to the stellar service and comfortable stay they deserve, and it sounds like you didn't receive that when you stayed with us. We sincerely hope you give us another chance in the future because we know we can provide you with the five-star experience you deserve.

Best wishes,

I booked this hotel for just several hours stay to catch the flight at 4am. When we checked in, we were given a room key and a remote control for the TV (?). The room is in bad condition. The AC and the refrigerator were loud, the microwave missing turning plate. The bathroom was not so clean. At 2:39am, we were waked up by a woman's scream: Don't touch me! Then the sound of the car door close and driving away. We called 911 to report it and leave right away. It might not be the hotel's fault but the area is not safe.

The safety and comfort of our guests is one of our number one priorities, and we want to assure you we'll be looking into what might have happened. It's surprising because we have security on guard 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to ensure our guests' safety. We hope you had a wonderful flight, and we wish you all the best.

Sincerely,
Your Team at Hotel Galaxy

So heres the deal, the hotel price is low however save the trouble and book a really nice hotel weeks in advance so you can avoid a place like this one.

Customer service was great and Sara was very kind however the room itself needs a lot of work.

It literally needs maintance work, everything from a paint job to new linens. The linens in our bed were ripped. They look reallt old and god knows how often they are washed, I had to cover the bed and bring in my own cover I had in my car.

The location is nice because it is very close to the strip but I am sure you can find better deals at better hotels.

This place was purchased not too long ago according to staff. The owner needs to really invest a lot to bring this hotel to guests standards in the mean time STAY AWAY.

My wife's friend is in the US and we decided to make a trip to Vegas, Everything in the US is expensive for her because of the 35/1 exchange rate so I decided to treat her and I mistakenly shopped for the cheaper places to stay. Galaxy hotel came up and looked nice so I booked for 4 nights.

It does look nice from the outside but once inside is where the shortcomings are revealed. My dresser drawers are busted, no glass revolving plate in the microwave, now hangers, toilet runs all night and the air conditioning is louder than a freight train.

I was expecting breakfast as that's what they advertised on orbitz but come to find out it's only on weekends and that added $90 to my budget, NOT HAPPY. I was also expecting maid service but come to find out there is none on Friday/saturdays. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday roll around and still no maid service!!!! I had to go to the front 2x to get soap and towels, Now T HAPPY, come to find out I have to ask for maid service, never heard of that before, they should have told me the 1st time I made a soap run because I asked "isn't there maid service"

The good - a/c is cold, has a refrigerator and its in an ok neighborhood, flare screen tv and wifi is strong.

My recommendation is to stay clear of the sleazy hotel unless is absolutely all you can afford. We were VERY disappointed and I will dispute a portion of the charge for the breakfast compensation, totally false advertising/description!!!!! AND NOT HAPPY!!!
