Recently opened, Dishes, at the TI should quickly shot to top place in the local buffet ratings. It continues the same trend as recently seen at Cravings in the Mirage of preparing most food fresh at the "cooking stations" scattered around the dining area. The selection was not as large, but the quality was excellent, and the choices were far enough from the usual buffet fare to make it very interesting. "Dishes" seems to be the end result of a gradual evolution to fresh preparation, and unlike their predecessors, they have gotten it "right".
Everything else is also "right". The waitstaff was excellent, in fact the finest I have seen at a buffet. (I left a twenty percent tip... at a buffet! This was a first for me. I also hunted down the manager to mention how impressed I was, also a first). The other thing that sets it apart is that the dining area is not the usual cavernous room, but has tables with a degree of intimacy. Excellent food, excellent seating, excellent staff. I highly recommend a visit.
