“Excellent Vegas Non-Gaming Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2012

This is an excellent hotel. It has no gaming, and it feels non vegas-like, so if you want to be in Vegas, but hate walking through a smokey casino just to get to your room, this is a good option. It's not as sedate as the MGM Signature. It reminds me of Vdara with its feel. New, modern rooms, without much of the Vegas "nosie" and craziness. The rooms are not as big as Vdara, but then again, Vdara is all suites. The rooms are perfectly comfortable and very utilitarian. The steakhouse downstairs is solid, but you probably could do better at Del Frisco's or Cut. Overall, if you have a reason to be in Vegas, yet you don't want the crazy casino downstairs, this is an excellent option.

Thank you for sharing your comments with us. We are thrilled to hear that you have so many positive things to say about our hotel, our steakhouse and especially our non-gaming atmosphere. We are pleased you found us to be such a wonderful alternative to hotels on the strip and we hope that if your future travel plans include Las Vegas – you will stay with us again.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for business. We were most impressed by the staff, from the front desk to the club lounge girls. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel special and to take care of all our needs. Our room was great and the view was fabulous. I would highly recommend this hotel for the staff itself. Thank you all. Ken and Wendy B

Room Tip: Ask for a high room overlooking the golf course.

Travelled with family (wife and 2 young kids) and stayed for two nights. Room was detailed perfectly, very modern, and quite comfortable. Being close to the monorail stop was a definite bonus! Not having to fight through a casino to get to your room was another HUGE bonus. I would aboslutely recommend this hotel to others...but I had two issues I think can be easily fixed (1 minor, 1 substantial):

1. [minor] Coffee in the room. We only had one package/cup of regular coffee in the room. Thought it was an oversight so wanted to see how the room was re-stocked the next day. Again, only one package/cup of regular coffee was placed in the room for 2 adults. Really?

2. [substantial] Cleanliness of Pool Area. Nice pool, but was consistently dirty by the afternoon on both days when we used it with our kids. Garbage on the ground. Empty cups and bottles laying by the poolside. Towel rack depleted and used towels laying about. seat cushions strewn every which way. Some garbage even inside both the pool and hot tub. Not really the inviting experience you want with your kids. (I brought the issue to the attention of the staff the 2nd day, and they immediately sent someone to clean the area) This is easily fixed and strongly recommend more frequent policing/checking by staff of the pool area to ensure it is maintained to Renaissance standards. (Mostly I'm amazed by people/guests who don't think they should have to clean up after themselves by thowing their garbage away or putting their used towels in the bin...geesh!)

Other than that...very nice hotel in a great location off the strip and perfectly suitable for families.

Thank you for your positive review on your stay with us. We were thrilled to learn you appreciated our location and found our atmosphere to be suitable for your family’s needs. We are sorry; however, to hear of your experience at our pool and the availability of coffee in your room. We are sharing this feedback with the proper department heads in order to better prevent this in the future. We appreciate feedback such as yours on these types of incidents. While they are rare, making our staff aware of them gives us opportunities for improvement.

Thank you again for your comments. We hope you will give us the opportunity to serve you in the future.

Had a great stay at the Renaissance Las Vegas. Staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our room was quiet and clean. Loved the fact that this was not a casino hotel and was located off The Strip. The monorail is just a few short yards away from the hotel and is a great way to get around. Would definitely recommend.

This is by far has the friendliest, most helpful group of employees I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! The hotel staff went above and beyond any expectation I would ever have from any hotel. Yosef and Ann were two that were particulary spectacular but that doesn't meet any of the others were anything less than fantastic (the doormen/valets rock it! ) The hotel itself is super clean, located off the strip so you can just jump on the monorail and you're there within minutes. None of the loud, smoky lobby's that you get from the strip. The pool area is a little small but it works and the lounge chairs are very comfortable! I will definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone that wants to visit Vegas but stay off the strip for a little peace and quiet.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us regarding your recent stay. It is a pleasure to read a review such as yours on Tripadvisor that recognizes so many of the attributes of the hotel that we take great pride in. From being 100% non-smoking and non-gaming, to offering a sophisticated sanctuary from the chaos of “The Strip” for guests such as yourselves, we enjoy offering a different side of Las Vegas. It is terrific to hear such great stories about our ambassadors - we will be sure to share your inspiring feedback with all of our staff!

What Started off as a disaster at Local Casino Hotel thats is no palace and has no train ended up being A great save. It started it off with Yousef. Yousef was working the front desk, Thus far upto that point my mini vacation was a total disaster. Yousef had noticed we were over charged thru the web site and made ajustments which was around a $70 dollar saving. Im starting to feel warm and fuzzy when he presents us with complimentry breakfast vouchers. At this point Im feeling like a very important and happy person. Its kinda of funny that every single person and employee were awesome!! Im talking the Twighlight Zone!!!! From the two bartenders at the bar I believe Paul was one and the other gentlemen were spectacular. The Staff at the Envy Steak house were warm and inviting. The Renaissance is truly a magical place. Another example was a young man we met in the elavator from the parking garage who very nice and informative, at the end of our ride he informed us he was a hotel employee and to have a great stay. I am blessed to have this experence since they are few and rare. Ill be back my friends thank you.

I'm a Marriott gold member, so imagine my shock when I worked all day and arrived at check in to find I was bumped. Now, we confirmed the reservation at 8 am today, They sent me into 105 heat in a suit to WALK to another property, because no cabs were available. IF YOU WANT A ROOM, DON'T BOOK THE RENAISSANCE!
