I wanted a quieter hotel this time and this was the best off the strip hotel I could find. It's right across the parking lot from the mono-rail so only a few minutes away to get to all the casinos. The pool is a bit small and in the shade half the day but I wasn't in Vegas for that so it didn't bother me.

Food and drink is ok, of average hotel prices and the staff are friendly. Room was a good size and was clean. Bathroom also fine and nice quality toiletries.

I'd recommend this for business travellers and it's right next door to the convention centre. However, probably not for those with families or wanting a good pool scene.

The Renaissance is right next to the Las Vegas Convention Center and Monorail. The Monorail makes it easy to get to the major casinos. Parking in their garage is easy and you don't have to walk through a casino to get to your room. Our room was clean and spacious, but nowhere near the top tier of Las Vegas hotel rooms. The hotel restaurant Envy wasn't particularly good, but there are lots of restaurants just down Paradise Road.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us regarding your recent visit. Although we were pleased to hear that you found our atmosphere and location acceptable and convenient, we were disappointed to hear that you did not feel your meal at ENVY The Steakhouse, met your expectations. We take great pride in ensuring we create a welcoming and convenient atmosphere, with upscale and comfortable rooms combined with food & beverage options that exceed expectations. In most cases we succeed, but in this case, fell short. For this we offer our sincere apologies and hope you will allow us the opportunity to serve you again.

All the best,

As a Marriott Platinum member who stays at hotels 125 nights or more per year, I've seen great hotels, and good hotels, but this Renaissance barely achieves its brand status.

The pluses: quiet room (they gave me a high floor, end of the hallway); HDTV with excellent selection of channels; generous room service portions and service; excellent fitness room equipment; very responsive "guest services" attendants, and free parking.

Here are the areas that need to be improved:

1. Hotel Room -- inside the room, the comforter was dirty; the shower walls showing mold; no magnified mirror in the bathroom; no bath towel racks near the sink or shower; and

2. Housekeeping -- one of the days I was there, (despite leaving a chambermaid tip each day on the bed) housekeeping didn't leave full sets of towels; didn't replace soiled glasses with fresh ones and didn't clean the toilet !!!! (We should have packed up and walked out of the hotel -- there's NO excuse for a dirty toilet after the room is cleaned.) Also housekeeping should have removed the soiled/completed room service breakfast tray, but didn't. A quick call to "Guest Services" solved these problems quickly, but they shouldn't have happened in the first place.

I did not try the hotel restaurant called Envy for dinner, but heard from others that it is quite good. Notwithstanding, although the Renaissance had the best price for 4-star hotels off The Strip, I'll stay somewhere else next time.

Thank you for sharing your comments with us. We appreciate feedback such as yours as it provides us with the opportunity to make improvements in service. We were extremely disappointed to learn of the housekeeping issues you experienced during your stay, simply unacceptable. Part of our success as a 4-diamond hotel is measured through Guest Satisfaction, with one of our key goals being to meet every expectation of room cleanliness at 100% satisfaction. In your case, we simply did not meet this goal and have addressed your specific concerns within our Rooms Division.

We hope for the opportunity to serve you in the future and assure you a much improved experience. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us.

All the best,

This hotel was gorgeous, clean and the staff was uber friendly. No casino smoke and noise, and so close to the strip by just using the monorail. I would recommend this hotel to everyone especially those needing to be near the convention center.

The Renaissance Las Vegas is a beautiful, modern hotel with excellent service. While it does not offer a casino, it is convenient to the monorail, which will take you to the center of the action. It IS super convenient to the Convention Center.. so if you are coming to town for a show, this will save you lots of time.

In addition to clean, comfortable, modern rooms, this hotel has a very good steakhouse and a superb room service selection.

Checked into half empty hotel for $159 rate. No upgrades provided to Platinum members. First room, dirty sink full of hair trimmings, second room, cleaner but overlooking a blighted area of Vegas: Constant sirens and flashing lights. Went to get a bottle of water from Club Room at 959 PM and was denied access because "we are closed" in spite of a room full of people still in there. Way to treat your Platinum members, Renaissance! Last, paper thin walls and you can hear everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING that goes on in adjoining rooms, conversations, the soundtrack of TV shows, and your neighbors using the can. I can't imagine why anyone would stay here much less anyone who chases Marriott points. When the Cosmopolitan opens it will certainly mean Rewards members will have a better choice and this place will be empty. Stay away. For $159 there are a thousand better options!

Thank you for the feedback regarding your recent stay. I am disappointed to learn that your experience was less than positive. Each of our rooms are inspected prior to guest arrivals to ensure cleanliness and that all is in working order. From the condition you stated your room was in, we failed in this instance. In addition, I am sorry you were denied access to our Club Lounge. The Club Lounge is available until 10:00 p.m. Sunday - Thursday, so this most certainly should not have occurred. In regard to upgrades, we do upgrade our Marriott Platinum Rewards members based on availability. Occupancy is not the only factor that dictates when upgrades are offered and unfortunately, they may not have been available during your visit. Still, the overall experience you shared is far from ideal and well below our standards.

I hope that you will afford us the opportunity to regain your confidence when choosing where to stay in Las Vegas.
