“Fabulous Grandview at Fabulous Las Vegas!”
Reviewed January 4, 2007

We actually stayed at the Grandview Resort by trading a timeshare week we own. We had stayed at the Mirage hotel 5 years ago, and I must say the Grandview was much more worth the money!! Partly because the rooms are all suites and have full kitchens, but also because it's just far enough off the strip to be quiet all the time.
It is a few miles from the strip, which means you need to rent a car or take a cab, but there is also a shuttle service which comes to the hotel periodically.
The staff was also very helpful & extremely friendly the entire time we were there. This is definitely a wonderful place to stay!

Went there as part of a family trip -- not my choice and not my taste. A bleak and desolate place once you leave your rooms. While the apartment itself is clean, nicely equipped and spacious, almost everything else is awful. There is permanent construction noise (starting incredibly early -- around 7:30/8) -- there are currently 2 buildings in the complex and they are planning 10, so be prepared for ongoing work. The walls are paper thin and the sound of water running in the surrounding apartments is so loud that you can't hear anything else. The location is incredibly isolated from the Strip and, while we had a car, the drive to the Strip takes awhile and there is literally nothing around in walking distance except for the Southpoint Casino, which pales after a while. The common spaces are jammed full of timeshare tours, at all hours of the day and into the night. The "internet room" has only 3 computers and children using them constantly. The pool looks nice but it's much too cold to use it at this time of year.

The Grandview at Las vegas is fairly new , i believe it was built in 2003, so everything still looks and feels new. The 1 bedroom suite has more room then any of the on strip hotels and for half the price.( King size Bed and Jet Tub too) plus full kitchen with all the utensils). Yes u are about a 10 minute drive south of the strip, but the money u save in staying here covers the cost of a compact car rental for the week, PLUS u are right next door to the south coast casino which is only opened in Nov 05. This casino has excellent prices and food selections at their resturants. They also have a bowling alley and theatre inside !

U can't go wrong staying here, as i for 1 enjoyed the use of the car to drive to the strip hotels(Their parking is free)and having 2 outdoor pools and a hot tub to enjoy that wasnt ever crowded. Also the peace and quiet away from the strip is nice.Quick directions from airport is go south on paradise rd (Airport exit) to 215 west, 215 west to Las Vegas Blvd exit, then south about 10 minutes to the Grandview on your right side right beside the large South coast casino. ( no way u can miss it) It wasour 1st time in Vegas and we enjoyed it so much we are returning in Mar07. pS: GO to the Grand Canyon, it is worth the drive(4-5 hrs each way) We left at 7 got there at noon and the left at 4pm and was back at the room by 9pm. $45 in gas gets u there and back ! But Fill up in Boulder city as no gas stations for miles after that! . I t is truely a site ! of a lifetime not to be Missed! The most amazing natural site ive ever seen! Dont pay for someone else to drive u in a overloaded uncomfortable van that will cost u $125 each! unless u have lots of money to burn, Ps: if u do then send some my way! . Enjoy your trip!

Hey Folks,

Just got in from Vegas yesterday. We had a blast. We spent 4days & 3 nights (Fri-Mon). We stayed at the Grandview Resort. The accomodations were ok, nothing too spectacular for a timeshare. Everytime the water was turned on for a shower or bath either from the room next to or above us the sound of the running water was extremely loud, as if the water was running in our room. The room also had an odor about it. We asked for a air freshener or something to make the room smell clean. no one ever accomodated us. The Grandview can't compare to Fairfields Grand Desert. The RCI salesperson was much too pushy. To be nice I could say he was on the passionate side when it came to RCI timeshares. But his passion turned into just plain rude and inconsiderate. The new South Point Casino is adjacent to the Grandview. The South Point was very well equipped for everyone. It has accomodations for the kids. A movie theatre, bowling alley, and gameroom. I say if you've got kids just stay at the South Point Casino rather than at the Grandview.

We booked the Granview through RCI and spent a week there. It was a wonderfully relaxing week. Of course, we were expecting the requisite timeshare pitch, but they didn't push it when we declined, like many other places. We had a one bedroom unit. It was spacious. We used the kitchen for many of our meals. We also had a few friends come to stay with us for a few days, and there was still plenty of room. We loved relaxing by the pools and dipping in the hottub.
We rented a car, because we hate having to rely on other people for transportation. It was a quick 5-10 minute drive up to the strip. There is free parking at every casino, so there were no worries there. And if you just wanted to play a few games, without seeing the sights, the South Coast was next door and a very nice casino with LOTS to do inside.
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Grandview if you really want to relax between trips to the casinos.

We all justed loved our time at Grandview. The pool was great, the unit was clean and pretty. The staff was nice, and helpful. The only thing I could say that I did not like was there was no schuttle service to and from the strip. We were told by RCI and the hotel that there was but when we arrived the front desk let us know they no longer had a shuttle service. They do have a taxi stand the cost is about twenty dollars to and from the strip. There is a casino right next door to the Grandview and that is nice, because you have a place to go eat or get coffee etc. My friends and I will stay here again. Thank you

The Grandview is a nice place to stay, however, they use to provide a shuttle to the strip on a frequent basis. I was told by the administrative staff that they will no longer provide a shuttle at all, you will have to get a rental car or catch a trolley for $2.50 each way or $6.50 per day round trip. That sucks!

  • Liked — Nice and clean
  • Disliked — Shuttle were small. Now they don't provide any.
  • Tips/Secrets — Stay somewhere else.
