“We Tried - They Failed”

We just had our second bad experience at the Outback on S. Rainbow/Lake Mead. This was our 4th visit and, unfortunately, probably our last. We are early diners, 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., so, naturally, the restaurant was not busy. There were only 2 tables seated when we walked in, we noticed a woman behind the bar, but saw no one else. After standing in the entryway for probably 5 minutes, the woman behind the bar said "I will be right with you" and then stopped to take an order at one of the only 2 tables there. She eventually got to us and we chose a table. Again, remember, there were only 2 other tables seated in the restaurant. The woman took our drink order and left. By now it was obvious that the woman was the hostess, bartender and food server. We waited approximately 18 minutes for her to arrive with our drinks (1 wine, 1 beer) and she then took our order. The salads arrived approximately 20 minutes later (quite awhile for a salad considering the restaurant was not busy), but were very fresh and flavorful. Then, shortly after our salads arrived (we were still eating them) the server asked if it was OK to bring out our entrees now. We of course said yes because we did not want the entrees sitting under a warming lamp. I ordered the special Filet (medium rare-which was promised to be a warm pink center) and Crab Topped Shrimp. The filet was literally still 'purple' inside and not cooked properly. This is exactly the same thing that happened the last time we had dinner here. It took awhile, but I finally got the Server's attention and explained the filet was not properly cooked. She agreed. She took the filet back to the kitchen to be re-fired. On the other hand, my husband's Ribeye steak was cooked perfectly. I was a bit disappointed in the crab topped shrimp. The shrimp (5) are literally the tiny shrimp used on salads and topped with a dry crab mixture that tasted 'fishy'. I did not taste the sauce that was supposedly suppose to be on top. I was expecting at least a decent size shrimp for the price they charge ($22.99). My filet was brought back after about 13 minutes and, still raw inside. I sent it back yet again. When the filet finally arrived back for the 3rd time, it was over cooked and dry. Again, this is exactly what happened the last time we ate here. The Server was not attentive and did not even check to see if I wanted a second glass of wine. I believe she was too busy trying to do multiple jobs, which is not her fault, but the distinct fault of management (who obviously is trying to save on payroll by having one person do 3 peoples jobs). The same scenario as to service happened the last time we were here. As I told my husband, at least I enjoyed my salad and baked potato, however, with a ticket total of $60.00. I expected a bit more. We agreed that it will be a very, very long time before we give Outback another chance.

“No complaints”

After a show at Caesars, it was handy just to walk across the street and not have to go to someplace crazy busy for a meal and a drink. Our waiter Richard was very talented as a waiter and was helpful in every way possible. He knew the preparation manner of everything on the menu and also the drinks. We had hamburgers with fries but they were very good and we were seated right at the window on the las Vegas strip and watched the Mirage Volcano eruption show 3 times right from our table. Very inexpensive dinner, but very good

love the choice always good quality ice cold beer wow! you can always find something on the menu to satisfy most tastes not posh down to earth food but can agree with others that the service seems to be going down hill having said that we will go back

“Service downhill”

Over the years I've made it a point to visit this Outback for dinner and was never disappointed, till now. Went early to avoid the rush (about 5:30). Waited about 5 minutes for a table when they had a good number open and nobody else waiting. Then sat at the table totally ignored by the staff. After about 20 minutes I gave up and walked out. Very disappointed.

“Gone down hill”

The Outback has been our favourite restaurant in USA for years and we always look forward to visiting. having arrived in Vegas we found an Outback restaurant located close to our hotel MGM so were delighted. We were expecting a long wait for a table but got seated straight away, Sean our server came straight away and took our order for drinks and food. It all looked very promising, usual Outback experience. However it became obviously they things had changed, the food was served on the smallest dinner plates I have seen in a restaurant, portion sizes had decreased significantly, and the service was dire. We didn't see our server again until he presented us with our bill, we asked 3 different waiters for ketchup and mustard , they never arrived and we didn't get a refill once. After being regular customers of the Outback every time we were in USA we will not be back, so disappointing.
