From flavor-packed street tacos cozied in hand-pressed tortillas to spicy sauces and house-made guacamole carefully crafted from authentic recipes, every meal is a feast for the eyes and adventure for the taste buds. As the only restaurant located along the canal-front in The Venetian® and The Palazzo®, Canonita offers guests a unique opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the Grand Canal with waterfront views of the resort’s famous singing gondoliers. Outside of the restaurant, the Street Taqueria food truck recreates an essential element of Mexico City’s culinary and cultural landscape. The walk-up experience features a variety of street foods and house-infused margaritas perfect for grabbing a quick bite while walking the Grand Canal Shoppes.

We chose this place after seeing it while shopping in Grand Canal Shops and we loved it. The margaritas were sooooo good and refreshing. I would come back here just for the drinks. Then we started with the chips, salsa and guacamole. The guacamole was so fresh, I could have made a whole meal out of it. Next, I had the enchiladas which came with black beans and cilantro rice. The rice was so light and airy and the enchiladas were perfect. This is definitely the Mexican restaurant to pick in Vegas.

We chose this place at random on our last night in the US after 3 months on the road and we were delighted. We were welcomed enthusiastically and given a table for two at the canal side. The menu is large enough but perhaps not as large as I would have hoped for vegetarians and draught beer would have been nice to support the bottled. Our food was superb, it was well presented and astonishingly tasty. The bill was modest and we were delighted to have eaten here.

This restaurant is right on the canal in the Grand Canal Shoppe area and provides a very nice setting for a leisurely meal. The waitstaff was good but we had to request water refills a couple of times. The meal was great! We had fajitas and enchiladas and both dishes were extremely tasty. Plenty of food - good sized portions. It's kind of a rip that you have to pay for chips and salsa though. That should be complimentary in any Mexican restaurant. Overall though, everything was very good and the prices were pretty good considering where the restaurant is located.

We dined here during a quiet night at this restaurant, 2 people.
1. Main meal was brought to table half way through our starters- a big no no!! I found this very rude!
2. My fajitas were so dry and floury I couldn't finish my meal- tasteless
3. We were waiting at least 20mins for our empty plates to be cleared and to be offered more drinks etc. we found this so slow we had to leave our table (in the quiet restaurant!) to ask the host to pay at front desk. She was so rude and unapologetic it was unbelievable! After paying the bill the host just turned her back and ignored our "thank you's"

We received great service in all restaurants in Vegas but this place was something else! I will not be returning!

Beautiful view of the Venetian Canal and gondolas. Excellent service and a delicious meal. we selected a Restaurant Week Price Fixe selection that included housemade guacamole and chips, pozole soup, and three chicken enchiladas with black beans and jalapeno rice all for $20 per meal. Alll items were fresh and housemade. More than enough food. We would recommend you select a table next to the canal so you may enjoy the singing Gondoliers as they pass by.
