We go here all the time. This is the best Thai food in Vegas hands down! As Vegans it's very easy for us to eat here and our food is so delicious. The menu is big enough that we are constantly trying new things and we are never disappointed and the service is always great!

“Good Thai food off the beaten path”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

Sure this is Las Vegas, but after a long day of work, my colleague and I wanted to find good food away from the bright lights (and crowds). Komol-- found via the Web-- definitely fills that criterion. It's tucked in the middle of an old and odd strip mall (dropped in the middle of a vast square assortment of restaurants, clubs, stores and vacant spaces) north of the Convention Center (and not far from where I was staying). Reviews here suggested this was the Thai restaurant of choice in Vegas. As others mentioned, don't judge a book by its cover. Though the restaurant was bustling, we were seated right away. Our server was cheerful, helpful and attentive. The menu appeared to have almost as many Chinese entrées as Thai dishes. On one hand, the satay appetizer, Panang chicken and Mongolian beef all were good; on the other hand, none was stellar compared to some good Thai restaurants back home. The decor and furnishings suggested a long-standing establishment, but seemed sufficiently well kept to escape a label of "run down." (Always encouraging: the restroom was both clean and modern, with upgraded fixtures.) All in all, Komol deserves a solid "4" rating, even if it doesn't fall into the "don't miss" it category. It is easy to believe (as others indicate) that it could be the best place in town to satisfy a hankering for decent Thai food-- especially if your aim is to take a break from the strip for a couple of hours.

“Dont be put off by appearances”
Reviewed June 15, 2013 via mobile

Been here many many times and wouldnever go anywhere else for Thai food in LV. Service is surely a little amateur but focus on the food. Its kept simple and authentic so dont expect the 'pretend' Thai food that the nearby Lotus of Siam serves up to gullible tourists and Vegas food snobs. This not americanized so be aware. Try the penang - delicious.
