“Always a good choice!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2010

Just had our 15th meal at Chin Chin in NYNY. We eat here at least once each time we're in Vegas. The food is excellent, in large portions, and always served fast and hot. The servers are a bit aloof, but they do their jobs well. If you're a PF Chang's fan, this is the less expensive version with the same quality of food. I recommend arriving early, as it is popular for the late day meal. A great value in LV is nice to find!

“Unfortunately, a lower price can mean a lower quality”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2010

Let's get this straight - nothing in Sin City is cheap. For Vegas travelers on a budget, finding the least expensive places to eat can be fairly tough.

During a trip to Las Vegas earlier this year, my family had dinner at Chin Chin at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino one night. Since we had been looking for some Chinese food, we settled upon Chin Chin. Its prices were generally lower than those of other restaurants, making it seem like an attractive place to eat.

Unfortunately, the low prices were just about the only good thing about the restaurant. When the food arrived, we were fairly disappointed, mainly because the majority of the dishes were too heavily seasoned. For example, our fried rice was literally drenched in soy sauce, which made it extremely salty! The other items we ordered also had similar problems. Since we prefer lighter tastes, it was rather hard for us to eat this food.

After the meal, we ordered a raspberry mousse cake for dessert. This, too, turned out to be a mistake. The cake was very rich, and we could tell that it was full of butter after just one bite. In fact, the cake was so rich that, even though I split it with my mother, it caused me to lose my appetite the next day.

The quality of service was not very good, either. It took the waitress five minutes to bring us the dessert menu, despite the low number of guests. After we ordered our dessert, it took another five minutes for her to serve it, even though it was a pre-made dessert.

On the whole, I would not recommend this restaurant. I understand that a single dining experience is not enough to accurately judge a restaurant, but my impressions are telling me to stay away from Chin Chin in the future.

Danny

“Great Chinese food in the always exciting NY NY”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2010

My husband and I ate here after a show and really enjoyed our meal. I haven't had the buffet as the pictures show, but we really enjoyed the menu. There were lots of options for both meat lovers and vegetarians alike. The cocktail list was also amazing and we enjoyed trying a few new things. As Joanna K. said, the ginger martini was amazing!

As for the food itself, the prices were very reasonable ($10-15) and the portions were plenty big. I would certainly recommend to anyone wanting Chinese food that isn't greasy and won't kill your wallet!

“hardly chinese”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2010

We just got back from Vegas and staying at NY NY found Chin Chin very convenient. However that was all, The first clue is that it is not owned by or run by chinese people. The food is overpriced even by Vegas standard and can be kindly described as an artist rendition of chinese food. They charge for rice for goodness sake!. The Mongolian beef that I had was oversalted in leiu of flavor and the beef with vegatables barely had either. I know food is always subjective but if you are looking for Chinese food, please go elsewhere!
