“Good but not the best”
Reviewed December 30, 2013 via mobile

With all the hype, my husband was very excited to try this restaurant. This is not intended to disparage this restaurant b/c overall, it was a good experience, but the best Thai is in Atlanta @ Nan's.

Now, onto business. We arrived 20 minutes prior to opening and people were already waiting in line. The location appears questionable but once inside, the ambiance was very nice. We had helpful & friendly servers and the food was good. Some other reviews suggested that it was over priced. We didn't think so. I agree portions were slightly smaller but very apropros compared to the gluttonous portions we've become accustomed to. Recommendations: crispy duck with basil, larb kai, & panang curry chicken.

“Lotus of Siam ab-fab”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

For all around value this is wonderful. 150 dishes on the menu and both central and northern Thai are present. Very good wine selection by bottle and by glass while you wait. Reservations are a must but if you are out of luck making one then show up a little before 5:30 and wait with 20 others and you will be served . We had the soft shell crab with drunken noodles-again wonderful(I cant wear out the word describing this place) We will come back every time we are in Vegas.

“Very disappointed”
Reviewed December 28, 2013 via mobile

My brother had us take a taxi here because he read in Yelp that this was the best Thai in Vegas. We got here at 1 pm and there was an hour wait and the place closed at 2:30. I had the buffet because of the time constraints. It was the sorriest buffet I've had. The selection was poor and the meals were overdone. The pad Thai was unrecognizable. The poor staff were overworked. I would not recommend this place.

“Despite the hype, Lotus under-delivered for us”
Reviewed December 26, 2013

With all of the hype, we expected better than they delivered. To be fair, we only ordered vegetarian items off of the menu, so we did not try some of their signature dishes. What we did order, we felt could have gotten the same at other Thai restaurants. One positive spin on the menu is the variety of dishes from the different regions of Thailand.

“My Favorite Thai Restaurant in the US”
Reviewed December 25, 2013

The title is true. The owners used to own a restaurant in CA and they shared their recipes with the current owners, so we get the best of both worlds in LA and LV. The food is simply not to be outdone by any other Thai restaurant and we come whenever we get a chance. This time we got takeout and we weren't disappointed. We got enough food for lunch, one person's dinner and lunch the following day. Each meal was delicious, even reheated in our hotel kitchen. Now that's what I'm taking about!!!
