“The Great Lotus of Siam”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

We heard about Lotus of Siam on Food TV and had high expectations. We were not disappointed whatsoever. The food is out of this world. Absolutely loved the pork belly, drunken noodles, and crispy duck. The waiter was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The wine list is amazing. Cannot say enough about it. We arrived at 5:30pm on a Thursday and within 30 minutes the place was full. I know they are fully booked on Fridays and Saturdays, so if you are planning to go, book ahead. Try it, you'll love it!!

“Fantastic Thai Food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013

We went in with very high expectations on the food, and were not disappointed. We tried 6 entrees, and 3 different appetizers. All were fantastic. The atmosphere is not much, and it is not in a good part of town. The service is also not the greatest, but worth the trip for the food.

“Amazing Food, Good Prices”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

This place is just as good as everyone has hyped it up to be. Fantastic food. We got there at about 5:10 pm on a Wednesday and we were first in line to get in. By 5:30pm the line swelled to about 30 people deep. You can call to make a reservation, but every time we phoned, it was busy or unanswered.

Worth the cab ride from the Strip (w/ tip, it was about $11-11.50 each way from Circus, Circus). The neighborhood wasn't great, but not scary like I expected based on other reviews (it was daylight when we got there and left).

“Great wine menu and the food was spectacular!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013

Wow is what I have to say about this restaurant. Absolutely amazing wine menu with so many choices I was almost overwhealmed if it wasnt for our somalier, who was able to recommend the perfect wine for us. I really did not expect a somalier in a Thai restaurant on that side of town, so yeah, I was very surprised. We ordered the Thai Beef Salad which was not on the menu, so if you get a chance, make sure you order it. Also, a little advise, when asked how spicy you would like, remeber that thai spicy and regular spicy are two different things. My husband likes spicy food and got a 7, he was sweating!!! We changed our entree spiciness to a 3 and that was perfect spicy (for him, I got a 1 and needed extra water). We had the seafood drunken noodles, which were delicious and very filling. My husband had the salmon and the curry and wow all aroung again. With the bottle of wine, our bill came out to $125, but we really enjoyed it and will go back there again with pleasure. Oh, another advice, make sure you make reservations, since the wait time was about 45min for walkins.
Service tends to be a little slow since it is a large place and its always busy, so alocate about 2 hours for the experience.
This restaurant is llocated in not the best area of town (we are locals) and I would not go there unless it was for this place. If you are visiting, take a taxi, dont go by public transportation.
We gave this place a shot and now we will be regulars.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

This is not the best Thai food in Vegas, it is more like people have to follow the trend. We waited for 45 minutes to be seated, when there were numerous empty tables. Our service was poor. There were three tables surrounding us that were seated after us and they were serviced first, two finished and left before we were completely served. We had to remind our waiter what two of our entrees were. Perhaps if we had been of asian decent as our surrounding diners were we would have been serviced more efficiently. I will not even go into what was ordered, our ticket was over $100.00, we tried a variety. I will say the tempura shrimp was good, outside of that go to some of the smaller local spots(the King and I, Lemongrass, etc). The small local places want your business, does not matter who you are.
