“Good food but wished the managers would keep it cleaner”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

The food was quite good, even teetoring on great, but the place looked dirty and was a real turnoff. Did not get to try their dim sum though the prices were very attractive at $2.49 per dish regardless of size (S, M or L). Will return to try dim sum some day when i revisit Las Vegas. The chicken porridge, though expensive (at $15.95) is huge and extremely tasty. Would highly recommend if porridge is your thing!!

“Where the Chinese go to eat dimsum”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

Very good dimsum and can be very crowded on weekends around late morning and lunch time. Always full of Chinese who know what good dimsum is supposed to taste like. Service is fast and reliable. Best choice in chinatown for dimsum.

“It was better in the past...”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

Cathay House was once the best Chinese restaurant in town with amazing Strip views. Sadly, their view was soon blocked with another building.

We arrived a little after 4pm for an early dinner. Note to self – arrive after 5pm as they didn’t seem ready for early diners. The bathrooms needed attention and someone went in to care for them right after our use. We noticed too that the tables all around us were being covered with table cloths which added a nice element to the dining area which is getting a little tired looking. Service was spotty.

The food is pretty much the same in quality and offerings – good. I made sure to ask to not have pork in my noodle dish and was a little disappointed when the Won Ton soup (family meal) was delivered and contained large portions of pork - you think they would have mentioned this?

Also, we missed having fortune cookies at the end of our meal. This may just have been an oversight on their part. Sad, it’s always fun to share the messages.

Very different Chinese in Las Vegas than on the East Coast, but totally delicious. This was a return visit and we will go back again. Ask for the shrimp egg foo yung
