We discovered Hugo's on a recommendation from our tour guide and it was possibly the best tip we received. When you get to the casino, don't worry if you think you are going to a dodgy downstairs restaurant - it is worth going down those stairs!
Hugo's is an old style restaurant from years gone by that has retained it's charm and style without becoming cheesy or dingy. As mentioned in other reviews the ladies receive a single red rose on arrival which is a very sweet gesture The waiters are all polite and keen to serve without being pushy or more interested in their tip. We were offered the house martinis and decided to give them a try - and they were divine. I had a mango martini and my husband had an apple one. Both were really fruity and the addition of the other "half" of the drink in a little jug surrounded by ice meant we actually got two drinks for the price of one. The meal itself initially looked expensive for the entree but as the price includes a personally prepared salad from the buffet trolley, a delicious steak cooked to perfection and plenty of side vegetables, an amuse bouche and strawberry and figs dipped in chocolate served with cream, the price was very reasonable. We didn't need a starter or dessert and couldn't finish all the food we were offered.
Our tour guide had said this was a restaurant families come to year after year and that survives on recommendation alone - no advertising. Having been here, I can see exactly why this is the case and would definitely come back here if our travels ever bring us through Vegas again. We would never have dared go down the stairs without the recommendation but now we have done so we have been telling everyone about it.
