Owner description: Rock of Ages, the "insanely fun" (Time Out New York) worldwide smash hit musical featuring a raucous mix of 28 eyebrow-scorching tunes, is now rocking nightly at The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. Set in L.A.'s infamous Sunset Strip in 1987, Rock of Ages tells the story of Drew, a boy from South Detroit and Sherrie, a small-town girl, both in L.A. to chase their dreams of making it big and falling in love. Rock of Ages takes you back to the times of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting even bigger hair! This hilarious, feel-good love story celebrates the great rock songs of the '80s including such sing-out-loud songs as "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," "I Wanna Know What Love Is", "Here I Go Again", "Don't Stop Believin'", and more. Parental Advisory Rock of Ages is all about having a good time but you should be aware that some of the costumes, dancing and language might not be appropriate for kids under the age of 14 (kids under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult). Remember, if you do bring them, they'll get to see you rockin' like you did back in the day! AGE LIMIT Under 14 Must Be Accompanied By An Adult Under 5 Will Not Be Admitted Into The Theatre

The band was great and we had a much better time than I ever expected. Our group ranged in age from early 20's to mid 50's and we all had a blast.
Not like the movie, but wasn't really expecting it to be. The overall production was MUCH better than I expected though and I would recommend it for all ages. VERY short intermission in a 2 hour show (like 7 minutes)

... the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams.
GO see the play. The movie was AWFUL, but that is Tom Cruise's fauly (who I do not like, so maybe I am not the best one to ask!)

Fantastic show you don,t need the most expensive tickets as this theatre is slopping so your view is not restricted at all. we are in our sixties and your never too old to rock, a really polished performance.

Rock of Ages is Amazing!!! Everything from the cast, to the music, to the stage is top notch!!! Though the story is kind of corny and predictable: boy and girl move to big city to chase their dreams and both find that the road to success has many bumps along the way. Drew wants to be a rock star and when he gets put into a boy band, ends up working as a pizza delivery boy. Sherry wants to act but instead works at a bar until she's fired and becomes a stripper.
All of the songs are hits from the 80's and you'll be shocked how many you know even if you don't consider yourself a rock fan. My favorite actor was the boy who played the German developers son Franz (KEVIN HEGMANN) . He has a million dollar smile and was so.... gay the entire show. When finally the girls tell him that they're shocked that he's in love with a woman because they thought he was gay I died laughing. But NO!! he's not gay he's German! The audience went crazy. Another stand out was the actor who played Lonny (MARK SHUNOCK): he was hilarious. If you saw the movie, Lonny was played by Russell Brand. Upon seeing the show, the movie miscast so many parts but none worse than Lonny, in the show he's the narrator and the heart of the show. In the movie he was annoying. Go see the show and have a blast!!!
