We did not stay here but passed through the casino from the buffet at Main Street Station. As we were passing the gaming table area both my daughter and I commented on the fact we didn't know enough to play blackjack in the casino. There was an empty table and we stopped to ask the dealer if he would answer a few questions for us. Not only did he answer he taught us both how to play. It was $5min up to $1000 needless to say we were at $5. I cannot say enough about our dealer Tony. He was funny, patient, and so helpful along with his pit boss and I can't remember his name. He would deal our cards and then look at them and tell us what we should do. Most of the time he was right and sometimes he missed!! Even when players came in and were playing $100 a hand he treated us as if we were playing $100 a hand. What a great asset to the casino at the California. We are hoping he will still be there next year when we take our annual trip. The big casinos on the strip are great but a lot more personal attention is given in the older smaller ones. Hey to sit and play for 3 hours and be entertained on $40 is a great deal as far as I'm concerned.
