We played in early November and had a late morning tee time. The course maintenance left much to be desired. It was not up to upscale standards. The second issue was the pace of play. We started on time but at the 10th hole we had players on the tee as we arrived. The back nine was very slow and our round ended up taking about 4 hours and 45 minutes. No marshals were observed, it was like the local muni. It was a shame as the course is a good layout offering a challenge from each set of tees.

We met Gordon at the Bridal Spectacular show and were impressed by him. After going to the open house, we knew this was the place. The views are beautiful and made for wonderful wedding pictures.

Their wedding package is truly all inclusive and they do an amazing job.

We also met with Christine Sanchez and Ed Ramos during the planning. They both did a great job meeting with us, letting us taste the food we were going to choose on our menu.

We were blown away by the service. The whole team from planners, servers, bartenders, and chefs did an incredible job!

The guests are still talking about how delicious the food was!

Special Kudos to Ed Ramos who really went above and beyond taking care of everything. We really appreciated him.

We would highly recommend Bear's Best as a wedding venue.

Just played 3 days in vegas - bears best, paiute wolf, and tpc canyons. Paiute in excellent condition all around -- fairways, greens. 4.5 round (sat am). Tpc greens excellent, fairways overseeded and pretty full but could use a trim (3:50 round sun am). Bears greens chewed up and no comparison to paiute or tpc (4.5 hrs fri am). Fairways overseeded but thin and too long. Bunkers not as nice as paiute or tpc. Will not go back to bears, but absolutely to paiute and tpc, esp paiute.

Four of us played this course and we were generally unimpressed. We got a break on the price because we were locals. Because there are so many great courses around Las Vegas, we would never have played this course for the regular fees. It is an interesting course that would challenge any golfer depending on the tees you play. And there are a lot of beautiful views of the Las Vegas strip and the multimillion dollar homes surrounding the course. However, our general impression was an overall lack of maintenance. And a conversation with one of the employees confirmed the indifference of the greens keeper.
The greens were generally in poor condition. Ball marks were everywhere and many were not fixed. Putts would bump along. And, anywhere near a sand trap there were rocks on the green not just sand. The greens at our own course a couple of miles away were in much better condition. So there's no good reason why the greens were in this bad shape.
A number of holes have a miserable rough. It looked like a washboard. Balls hit into this rough were virtually unplayable. This may be tolerable for professional golfers but it certainly does not make it pleasant for the average golfer.
There were no laser reflectors on any of the flag sticks. Due to the unpredictable accuracy of GPS units I always double check the distance with a laser rangefinder. I've never played a course without some kind of laser reflectors. On the other hand, the GPS units in the golf carts worked just fine as long as you could drive to somewhere near your ball. However with all the waste bunkers this was often difficult. Thus the utility of a rangefinder.
While many fairways were in generally good condition unfilled divots were everywhere. I went to fill in some and found that our sand holders were empty. Sloppy maintenance.
The restroom off of number four consisted of a single portapotty that would not flush. Inexcusable.
We played between 11 and 4. And all along maintenance men were mowing right next to us and did not stop while we hit which was very distracting. There's also lots of construction going on in the Ridges property adjacent to the golf course. Between this and the ongoing maintenance it makes the course very noisy.
We played TPC Las Vegas two weeks earlier and it was in much better condition. The views from Bear’s Best are very nice but then a lot of courses around Las Vegas have great views. This is a golf course with great potential that is unfulfilled because of a lack of good management.
