We kicked off our trip to Vegas with the Mob Museum and it was AWESOME. In reading other people's reviews, some can go through this place in an hour and some take longer. My husband and I are very into shows like Boardwalk Empire and love the movie, The Departed so we knew we would be spending a bit of time here.

We were there for 2.5 hours and it didn't seem that long at all. This museum is really well done with inter actives that you can do as well as watch short films within the museum. Not to mention all of the reading and visuals that this museum has to offer, I know I missed a lot of stuff just because we had to get through all of it.

The thing that made this place the greatest was one of the docents named Victor. He told us we got 2 free drinks at the Mob Bar when we showed our receipt from our ticket purchase.

If you're debating about going here, JUST GO! It is worth it.

The Mob Museum is located in Downtown Las Vegas just off of Fremont Street. It's in the building of an old post office. The Mob Museum details the history of the Mob in America starting on the third floor and showing you all sorts of fun and informative exhibits throughout the entire museum including Mob Movies, as well as some other interactive exhibits. Unlike the cheesy Mob Attraction at the Tropicana, this museum is fun and informative, as well as not being a waste or time and money. Parking is only $5, which is a good deal no matter where you're from.

This interactive museum was wonderful. Self guided so you can take your time and read all of the interesting facts about not only Vegas mobs, but all Mobs. 3 stories of aritifacts and stories. Took about 3 hours to tour it and it was well worth it.

PROS: $5 parking beside the museum; 3 levels of interesting exhibits; $10 Nevada resident price only applies to the specific person; the tour starts at the 3rd floor and works it way down to the 1st floor.

CONS: slightly expensive items in the gifts shop;

This is a must visit for anyone coming to Las Vegas and wants to get an extreme history of the mob. From the beginning of Italian immigrants coming to the states at the turn of the last century up to Whitey Bulger, this museum has just about everything. Great history on Vegas and gives one a real understanding of how much skimming was going on in the early days of Vegas. Plan on spending at least two hours, because you will probably end up needing more.
