“Absolutely a great time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2012

We had a wonderful stay. Check in was quick and painless! We stayed in a one bedroom which was more than enough room for my husband and I. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. We had a fabulous view of the Strip. Pools and workout facility were nice! Staff was always ready to help. Only negative was the one time timeshare pitch that was slightly pushy but we were firm with our answer that we were not interested in going to any sales pitch meeting. The location was nice away from the strip a bit but a safe 10 minute walk to casinos, which was rough in the heat, however taxis are readily available and it is only about $5. Or the shuttle service is great; just wish the times were extended as they stop too early in the evening. Shuttle service to the grocery store and Freemont Street were also helpful and easy to use. Overall a wonderful experience and we would stay there again!

Room Tip: As for a higher floor with rooms facing the strip for a great view!

Wyndham grand desert is absolutely wonderful in every possible way. You cann't expect a better and more comfortable stay than staying at this awesome Wyndham. We bought a week from a friend who is an owner. Based on photos and some reviews we had an impression that it will be a good property. However, once we got into our one bedroom deluxe unit we were thoroughly impressed. The unit with jacuzzi in the bedroom, king bed, full kitchen, full size pull- out bed in the living room and two TVs is all that we could ask for in a unit. Since a lot of the good things have been said about Wyndham by other reviewers I will focus on some important tips:
1. Read the reviews, especially the tips from fellow TripAdvisor. They are really on the mark.
2. Tower II is the best location. Higher the floor, better the view, irrespective of strip or swimming pool view. Call the resort a week prior to your travel date to make specific requests.
3. There is a 24 hr CVS within a mile at the intersection of E. Harmon and Paradise for all your basic needs. Get out of tower II and take a right towards Hard Rock casino to reach CVS, If you feel lazy there is another generic store close to the Subway on your way to CVS that has all the essentials like pancake mix, sugar, milk, bread etc.
4. The units have washers and dryers (with detergents). Carry a lighter luggage as you can wash and dry your essentials at your will.
5. If you renting a car, which I recommend, go with Dollar at the airport. They have real good rates. Book the cheapest one and there is good chance you will get a better car than what you paid for. I got a Mitsubishi Gallant in place of an Aveo for $12/day. The taxes and fees were much higher than the actual rental cost.
6. Go to the Village Buffet in Paris casino. You will not be disappointed. If you are brave enough to listen to the timeshare speech at Wyndham you can receive $150 worth of coupons that are good for many restaurants, including the Le Village in Paris.
7. The timeshare spill is optional. No one approaches you unless you show interest.

Good luck. Happy to answer any questions.

A party of 8 of us recently stayed at the Wyndham Grand Desert for a week. We had a fantastic stay in this wonderful resort. The rooms were very spacious, modern, clean & new. The hotel staff were very friendly. The pool was supervised all the time by lifeguards. There was plenty of parking at the hotel. There is a shuttle also that will take you to the strip which is handy if you want to stay parked for the day. Its an ideal location for couples, families or business people. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would go back in a heart beat :-) Loved every minute of our stay. There is something for everyone here.

We stayed here for our Scentsy Convention at the end of July! It was WONDERFUL!!! The rooms were PERFECT and AMAZING!!! We loved the location and really enjoyed all the Staff!! I felt right at home and so did my family! We loved being able to utilize the full kitchen! With the kids on the trip it sure did save us plenty of $$$. The kids loved the pool, the game room and we also loved the pizza!!!! Every staff member was so helpful and friendly!!! Even sitting outside we met "John" from Maintenance and he was so very helpful on places to visit! I can not wait to come back and stay here again!!!

The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean. Pool areas are nice. If you don't want to drive around, you need to take a shuttle to Harrah's to get to the strip. It is a lengthy walk to the strip otherwise. The shuttle does not run 24 hours. So if you want to take in the strip and shows. Be prepared for long walks or taxi's. The elevators are funky. Got trapped going up and down a few times.

We stayed here for a week as an RCI timeshare exchange, two families in two two-bedroom rooms. The rooms sleep up to 8, have a full kitchen, two bathrooms, washing and dishwasher machines if you need these. The location is a few blocks from the strip, easy to walk in the evening but too hot in the day. However, the hotel provides a free and frequent shuttle to the sister hotel Harrahs, which is at the heart of the strip, which we used all the time. The three pools areas are not huge, but nice. There are family and separate adult pool areas between towers 1 & 2, and a 24-hour pool terrace in Tower 3. The grocery store is small, limited and very expensive, but here is a small deli on site for breakfast and pizza if you need to eat in. There is a small bar in tower 2, but this is not run by Wyndham and tends to close early.

Room Tip: there are 3 towers. The main adult and family pools are next to towers 1 & 2, and the deli, groc...

We stayed here for a week in a vacation rental in june. We had a fantastic time, everything about the hotel was great. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the concierge staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a ton of fun at the pool party one day, which was a relaxing break from all the walking and sight seeing we did the rest of the week. Thanks for making our first, but definitely not the last, trip to Vegas so great!
