“Family Resort off of the Las Vegas Strip”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

If you are a family looking to vacation in Las Vegas I highly recommend this resort. The resort is slightly off the strip so if you do not want to expose your kids to the "not so kid friendly activities" in Vegas you don't have to. The pool area outside the main tower is gorgeous. It featured an adult pool, kids pool, two large hot tubs and plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing around the pool. Our suite resembled a small apartment. Had a full kitchen, dining room, living room, master bedroom with master bath, second bedroom (two queen beds), bathroom and washer dryer unit. A tip....book your shows and dinner through the resort. There is a tour desk there that is specifically designated for this and can save you more money than booking at the casino or general box office. Additionally if you book a dinner and show through them they provide limo service. This is a time share resort. We stayed as a guest of someone who is a time share owner so I am not sure of those logistics, but if you are interested in Wyndham times shares they do offer daily tours. It is a very beautiful, quiet and secure place to stay in Las Vegas.

This past August was my third stay in the Presidental Suite at the WGD and I absolutely love staying there. The room is unreal, boasting three bedrooms and three full baths, and it was more then up to date with electronics and technology. Also, there was an amazing hot tub in the master bedroom that had a peek through to the rest of the bedroom. The grounds were kept up beautifully and there was a convienent shuttle service offered to guests. I only had one complaint and that was the staff calling almost daily to push selling timeshares after I informed them I was not interested in owning another timeshare property. Other than that- no complaints in Sin City!

We really enjoyed our stay at this resort. Everything was clean, newer looking and very comfortable bed. You are a 5-10 minute shuttle ride from the strip. Close to the strip without all the loud crzainess to deal with. No high pressure sales from the staff.

Room Tip: Tower one 12th floor had nice view of the strip. Very quiet, shuttle runs every 20 minutes and dropp...

We have found that staying in the Las Vegas time share properties is a great alternating to the smoke filled and noisy casinos.

However, the Wyndham Grand Desert is far from Grand. I must qualify my comments by saying that we have stayed at Hilton and Marriott perporties. The Hilton and Marriott perporties are very nice and I must add that they were very satisfying experiences.

This is not the case in respect to Wyndham.

The lobby is nice and staff at check-in is service minded but when we asked for a bellman they told us that they do not have staff at the third building to help us. We could try to work it out with the main building staff bellman. We made two trips carrying our things to the room.

Our room was clean. The airport is approximately one mile from the hotel and you can hear the jets taking off starting at 5 am each morning. The wall are not insulated well and you hear sirens all night.

The kitchen appliances are noisy and the lowest quality. The air conditioning unit is very loud as is the washer and dryer. The tub is leaking and to add insult to injury the vending machine at the end of the hall does not work.

The sales office with high pressure sales people are in located in a public area near the Gym giving a very unconferible feeling of pressure to purchase one of these very low quality TIME SHARES.

The Hilton and Marriott Facilities provide daily house keeping. We were told that there is no daily house keeping unless we were planning to stay 8 or more days. We had to call each day for clean towels and empty our own trash.

The last night of our stay I did not sleep because the people next door to us we're extremely noisy. It sounded as if they were in our room. The walls are not insulated well at all.

The overall experience I would rate as poor at best. In addition, we will never stay here again....

I booked a 1 BR unit via Ebay for 4329. I was very pleased with the unit, which cosisted of BR, Kitchen, Living room, dining area, bath with whirlpool as well as shower. My partner particularly appreciated the 2 areas with sinks, she was able to have all her things at her own area. Located 3-4 blocks off the central strip, convienient to walk, or to use the shuttle bus which drops off at Harrah's. Comfortable, clean, helpful staff, be sure to ask at concierage about specials they have for dining, sightseeing and shows. I would stay again

Room Tip: We were in the main tower which is where the shuttle stops most frequently

It is spring break so there are many families. We are staying in a 2 bedroom for a family trip in March 2012. Unit is spacious. We went to the area Costco to get items for breakfast and snacks. Kitchen has what we need to fix a few quick meals so don't have to eat out all the time.
The location is why we chose this resort. It is about 10-15 minute walk to the strip. The area is safe and there are guests who walk to the strip. The resort offers a shuttle to Harrah's so it is another option if you don't want to drive on the strip.
Wifi is free in the rooms. Activity center has free games and DVDs that guests can check out. One of the three pools at the resort are for adults only. The main pools close around 10 PM. The one at tower III opens 24/7 but it is smaller than the main pools.
Parking in level 1 for guests who stay in towers I and II is very convenient since you can go directly from indoor parking to your room without going through the lobby. Tower III guests would park outdoors.
There are activities for the week. The staff at the resort are friendly and helpful. Definitely family friendly.

Room Tip: Request for high floor with the view of the strip.

We did 5 rooms at this timeshare for my stepdaughters recent wedding at the Wynn. They were all two bedrooms in the third building which is definitely quieter with less kids. The building is also the closest to the strip, only a half mile off, very, very easy walk, especially with drink in hand. We usually stay at the carriage house which I absolutely love, but we needed more rooms this trip.

The only drawback is you have to go to the main building to sign up for bellhop service so you can bring all your bags in a cart up the elevator. That seemed like a pita so we just did it ourselves. The rooms are spacious, comfy and the beds were great. The kitchen appliances were great, complete with pans, pots, measuring cups, bowls, microwave, toaster and coffee maker.

When we checked in, we were greeted with wine, and after we were done checking everyone in, they gave us more! It is so nice to cook breakfast, dinner and late night snacks!

The gym was a nice feature, however this was a party trip, so the only eexercise I got was walking the strip. Which we did a lot of, it's so easy to walk, it's great people watching, and I dont like to be too lazy!

Pool was really nice, and they crack down on the smokers, which is great as well. There are some really nice and plenty of organized trips and tours, so if you were a Vegas virgin, or just didn't know what to do, you could easily do some of these. There were a lot more than I've seen in other timeshares. They also have a free shuttle to harrahs.

Concierge was great! We needed to get a limo at the last minute to the wedding and they found us a 20 person one in a half hour for cheap! So if you need assistance, definitely call on them, I was very impressed!

Room Tip: If you want to stay away from kids, pick the third building the newest one.
