Absinthe could be described as a mini Cirque Du Soleil variety show with a serious adult edge. There is only very modest nudity, but the dialogue is definitely for adults only. The two main hosts, a ringmaster guy and his female assistant are absolutely hilarious. Their jokes and dialogue are very crude, raunchy, and sexually explicit, so be warned if you are easily offended by that kind of stuff. I would say that the dialogue was at times more raunchy and crude than it really had to be, but it was still very funny and entertaining.
The venue itself is fairy small and takes place in a festively decorated and propped tent situated outside Caesars Palace. The seating consists of wooden folding-type chairs that are lightly padded and seats are tightly packed. All seats are floor level and laid-out in a circle around a center stage. The viewing is not that great at times because of the performers are often also at a low level and it's sometimes hard to see through the rows of people in front of you. My biggest complaint is that the temperature inside the tent at times was uncomfortably hot (even though the outside temperature was in the mid to low 40s). The A/C kicks on and off during the show, but I was at times very uncomfortable. The viewing and comfort for this show could really be improved if they fix the ventilation and arrange the seats or staging for better viewing.
This was a fun show to see at least once. I don't know that I would care to see it a second time like I have with other shows.
