“Beautiful Hotel, a walk from The Strip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2010

We booked this hotel because of the affordable rates on such a short notice. The hotel was gorgeous! Rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. I just wish they had a shuttle service to the strip! It was quite a walk in heels! Also, the pool was VERY crowded so we didn't stay out there long...

First off..The service wasn't great. I called to confirm my reservation and I was on hold for over 20 minutes! They charge $10 plus tax every night, which includes the nasty coffee and use of the gym. The hotel itself feels more like apartments or condos. Make sure you ask for the 3rd floor, because I stayed on the first and kept hearing loud foot steps all night!
What I liked about the room: the rooms are very spacious, and pretty clean. You can access your car in less than five minutes and don't have to walk through a casino.
What I didn't like about room: The furniture needs updating, the TV is small. The bed was hard and looked old and wavy. There was a weird smell when you entered the room too.
If you have a car, the strip is not too far. Its a couple of blocks away.
Would I stay there again? ONLY if I could find a good deal like 30-50bucks a night. We were on a budget this time so the price was right.
Advice... if you are not on a tight budget, and you want a soft comfortable bed, stay somewhere else!

Basically the Tuscany is a well kept secret for Vegas! I stayed there for a full 9 nights in March and feel as though I could have stayed there a whole lot more, it was such a wonderful, relaxing place and very reasonably priced, so much so I intend to use it again.

Firstly the location. It is exactly a 10 minute walk to the strip, coming out on the corner of the Bally’s Hotel, which also means you are only 10 minutes away from the monorail at the Bally’s. Going in the opposite direction you have a large Target supermarket less than a 15 minutes walks (behind Target a wee bit up the road you also have a decent sized Shopping Mall, with J C Penny’s and Macy’s on either end of it. Taxis are available 24/7 and their prices start at about $4 upwards (to the shopping mall it was about $9).

The hotel complex itself is large, and very green which is lovely, there is plenty of parking too. My tip would be to ask for a building away from the pool, as they do have bands on at the weekends, and they obviously have children playing and and around the pool (very loudly). I was on the perimeter of the complex and it was just right. Unlike most of the other hotels in Vegas you do not have to walk through the casino to get to the reception or your room, infact you don’t have to step in the casino at all, it is on the side, and whilst a lot of fun it is very discreet compared to others. The several food outlets are all very good (tried them all). Marilyn’s Café, makes a mean stack of pancakes. The two Pools are wonderful. There is a coin operated laundrette, which is very handy – so keep those quarters (you can buy the soap from the wee gift shop).

Check-in was quick and simple, the staff were very polite and helpful. Every member of staff I came in contact with throughout my stay was helpful, and if there was a problem they seemed to deal with it without a fuss once it was brought to their attention. I think it is easy to complain about things that are wrong on here after you get home, but unless you mention it to the staff whilst you are there, how do they know, it is no good to them or you, if the first they learn of problems is on Trip advisor etc! At the end of the day it should be their actions that get to be put on this type of site I think, surely that would be more helpful to fellow travellers.

The room was huge and well equipped for all my needs. It was very clean and serviced each day. The wee kitchen space was handy, especially for the fridge. There is a Soda Machine and Ice Machine on the ground floor of each block next to entrance. (also if you ask reception, they will send a microwave up if you want one for free). The Beds were very comfortable, the blackout curtains did their job well, as did the air con. Towels were nice and fluffy and the toiletries were very nice. There is a free safe in the large wardrobe and also in there is an Iron and Ironing board. TV Channels were enough to entertain – pay on demand channels though were a bit pricey.

Now here is the only ‘let down’ for the Tuscany for me; their FREE WIFI is only free in common area rooms such as reception, café, casino etc (very misleading on most Travel sites). You have to pay if you want it in your room, and it ain’t cheap – something like $11 per day on one laptop only. This is a shame, as people will remember this mostly about their stay here if they are having to hike over to reception to check their emails out (after all it is the 21st Century and most people either have a laptop or a Smartphone with them these days), There is a daily resort fee of $10 at the Tuscany, which seems to be a standard in all Vegas hotels now, but I think personally if they added the WiFi into this, they would get tons of praise instead of people grumbling in the reception area – just a thought.

Just around the corner from Tuscany is Ellis Island Casino, please visit this place for their BBQ Rib’s the best I have ever tasted, you can sit out side and watch them been cooked the smell is lovely.

The is a free bus from outside Bally’s reception (10 minutes away) to Liberace Museum which is fun. (also near a big Walmart store!)

Freemont Street is a $25 taxi ride away, but well worth it, especially at night. There is a bus, but I wouldn’t recommend it, as it takes over an hour to cover one mile.

As for Las Vegas, I just love it! The only thing to let it down is those annoying people trying give you flyers for girls on every corner – they become very tiresome – give it up people!!!

One last thing, if you want to treat you yourself on your last day. I got a stretched limo at reception to the Airport for $15 (it is $12 in a normal taxi) I didn’t even have to haggle the doorman found him for me. Oh and the doorman will happily look after your luggage all day for you when you check out for free (well obviously for tips).

Enjoy your stay in Vegas and I hope you enjoy the Tuscany as much as I did.

We recently stayed 4 nites at the Tuscany. If you are looking for a quiet, well cared for hotel with spacious rooms stay at the Tuscany. If you are looking for excitement, noise and wall to wall people stay on the strip and pay twice as much for the rooms. The resturants were very good. I would highly recommend the Tuscany Garden Italian resturant . The food and service were excellent. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

We got a really good deal and so we think this was a great value for what it is. Is not worth the regular rate - would rather stay on the strip. We needed something away from the hustle and bustle and it delivers. No street noise and although really close to the strip - it is peaceful here. True the rooms are quite big, but as others have mentioned, there is no kitchenware and is useless unless you make a trip to the store. The room is not luxury. Very basic decor, but clean. If you are getting a handicaped room - beware. The handicaped bathroom accommodations seemed nice enough until shower time. The handle rail was loose and the shower is leaking at the connection.
Side note: I love my lattes and their Beachfront cafe does a pretty good job. We had a difficult time finding a nice barista or any friendly staff.

We ran into a few problems with our stay. We are a family of four- two kids ages 10 and 11 with mum and dad. We had asked for a room with two doubles and a roll away and we were assured that would be available. When we got there we could not have a roll away because of some rule about having more than two beds in a room. The rooms are certainly big enough! I just wish we had been given the correct info at the beginning. Had to ask for a microwave, extra tp, etc. No utensils, dishes etc for the kitchenette. Room was run down-broken sink, burned out bulbs etc. The grounds, pool and restaurant were very nice. Watch out for the extra $10 a night tax when you arrive!!!

This place was awasome, cleaned and spacious. It had a kitchenette wich was great with little kids, large space for them to run around. The bathroom was big too, it was great to have a separate shower from the bath, the toilet its also separa from the rest of the bath. Front desk was nice. Internet is not free, unless you go to the front desk. You have to pay like $15 for 24 hours wich I think was the only thing bad with the hotel. Other then that it was great.
