If you are looking for a different kind of Japanese food experience, get on the 215, exit Jones, make a quick right and duck into Kyara.

With prices between $2 and $5 for small plates of food, you'll stuff yourself on all sorts of Japanese delicacies; including old stand bys like fried chicken, fried squid, tuna, seaweed salad, kim chi, and loads of classic "sarariman" dishes that will leave you satisfied without breaking the bank.

If you like the raku and ichiza experience but have gotten frustrated with the wait times, this little spot on south Jones might be just what you've been looking for. Japanese beer on draft, suntori whisky by the glass and more menu choices than you can shake two chopsticks at.

Sit at the bar and watch the guys cook your food right in front of you. Its a very pleasant experience.

My new favorite eating and drinking hang out!!! Food, service, and atmosphere is just absolutely fantastic!!! Couldn't get much better for an off the strip restaurant! It can get busy outta no where so reservations are best! Enjoy and have fun here!

This is a small, contemporary designed restaurant with the same ownership as the Naked Fish. We started off with the day’s sunomono (vinegared vegetables including seaweed, 3 rating), shoniku (chicken skewer, 3 rating), tsukune (ground chicken and pork skewer, 3.5 rating) and rice. Our next order was Asari saka mushi (a very small portion of very small clams in sake, 1 rating), Age dashi tofu (deep fried tofu with special sauce, 3 rating) and Agedashi Nasu (deep fried eggplant with special sauce, 4 rating). The last order was yuzu fromage mousse (a homemade citrus mousse, 3.5 rating). Portion size for each was small so I imagine those with large appetites could run up a sizeable bill.

Personally, I am not a fan of seaweed (so what am I doing in a Japanese restaurant?) Everything came with a generous dose of seaweed. I'm not complaining. It's just not to my liking.

In general, the food was good, but not consistent. There were a few dishes that were sub-par (the cold soba noodles...yuck). The grilled vegetables were mostly good, although the asparagus could have been trimmed a bit better (very rough) and the mushrooms were undercooked.

Make sure to ask if you have any food allergies. Although the menu does not state it, they covered one dish with bonito flakes and I was dining with someone who has a life-threatening seafood allergy!

The service was adequate (should have been better for how uncrowded it was). We ordered a dessert that they said takes ten minutes...we did not get it until at least half an hour later.
