No neon, no machines, no dodgy deals, no fake promotions, just excellent value. We had a huge suite - double bedtroom, sitting room with 2 sofas, fully equipped kitchen, dining table and chairs, 2 tvs, bathroom balcony, full buffet breakfast, use of nice swimming pool, all for $100 a night. The best bargain we encountered in USA this holiday. The hotel is a little difficult to find - not helped by Las Vegas traffic and one way streets - but once there it is very close to the strip: 10 minutes walk to the Deuce or streetcar express at Tropicana /or monorail at MGM.

Some noise from aircraft especially helicopters but for Las Vegas really quite quiet in the rooms.

The staff are very helpful and attentive.

This must be one of the best deals in Las Vegas.

The location is walking distance to big hotels/casinos and entertainment centers. I was surprised how big the room given to us considering the price we paid. The room was fully furnished - bed, sofa, refrigerator, stove, microwave, kitchen/dining wares - just like home. Staff members were very nice and willing to assist us every time we approached them. I will surely recommend the place to our relatives and friends.

Room Tip: We did not use the restaurant because we were cooking our food and most of the time eating out.

If you want to stay at a nice family atmosphere and walking distance from the strip this is a nice resort to check out. The free breakfast was great and not just the plain danish. Actually had eggs and sausages which was an added bonus. I stayed at the 2 bedroom suite and it was very clean and the service was excellent. I believe Maria was the one who helped me and she made my stay very inviting and because of the service that would bring me back to this resort.

Peace and serenity in the urban jungle of Vegas, after a wonderful night in Fremont and the joy of the musical poker machines in the Strip, Desert Rose was welcoming and restful. Clean, spacious suites and friendly staff, hot complimentary breakfast and the happy hour free drinks! Thank you Desert Rose!

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be very accessible where you park your car, but the corner suites were heaven on e...

We stayed here on Sept 30th to Oct 3 2012. Loved the room as we had a two bedroom suite -great as we were traveling with another couple. First time in Las Vegas! We enjoyed the location - just 2 blocks away from the busy Strip!, felt comfortable walking in this district, The pool and hot tubs were kept cleaning and inviting, continental breakfast was a good start to the day - basic eggs ( scrambled or french toast), fruit, juice tea/coffee dry cereal and toast. Our rooms had two separate bedrooms at opposite ends of the suite- each had there our washroom/ showers with a good supply of towels. We had a complete kitchen unit , dining section and TV. area. We did not enconter ay problems with this resort and would recommend this to all!

Room Tip: We stayed in bldg # 3

I stayed here for a Netcom learning training event and was disappointed based on the advertising and reviews here at tripadvisor. The rooms WERE clean and classy (we got suites with the training) but it had cheap written all over it. The "fitness center" was just a couple cardio machines. No nautilus, no free weights, not even a mat with exercise balls. We've come to expect more, especially the way it was advertised. The breakfast was cheap. Good coffee, but oranges that looked 100 years old, cardboard sausages and fake eggs I wouldn't go near. They had cereal and juice, so it wasn't terrible, but less than what I expected based on the advertising. Not even as good as Holiday Inn Express breakfast.

The corridors are open-air, which gives a nice courtyard feel, and there are gates that require key card access, so it's secure... But it meant there were millions of moths attracted to the light in the hallways. The staff was trying to clear them, but there were a lot!

To be fair - some of the advertising I'm talking about was Netcom learning ... so maybe if I had just been visiting the hotel my expectations wouldn't have been as high and I'd have been happier. Vegas is expensive! but this Hotel did seem to have good rates, and cheap/clean laundry facilities.

It was our first trip to Vegas, and we could not afford to stay in a 5-star strip hotel. I am so glad we didn't. This hotel is only one block away from the action: a block that keeps the noise and craziness at bay. Desert Rose hotel has a very nice pool, is very clean, and has friendly staff. Their concierge is not particularly helpful, but the check-in staff was kind (even at 3 in the morning!). Free breakfast is average, but mid-week manager's munchies was a treat. Rooms are spacious, well equipped, clean, and comfortable. Having the kitchenette saved us a bundle (that we promptly dropped in the slots). Stay here if you are a family, or a couple who likes a quiet space after time on the strip.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool.
