Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo
Ranked #22 of 263 Hotels in Las Vegas
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed April 2, 2011

This was our third stay in four years at the HGVC at the Flamingo. We are owners, and I am disappointed that we were not treated better. We received a phone call a few days before our arrival, asking what would make our stay better. We asked for an early check-in, and were told that would be 'no problem.' When we arrived at 11:30am, we were told the suite was not ready (and it continued to be 'not ready' until 5pm, an hour AFTER guaranteed check-in). Other disappointments are the quality of the toilet paper (the Hampton Inn locations are much better), the small pillows (why can't king size beds have king size pillows?), and a rather petty attitude by the desk help. Since we have stayed there in the recent past, it seems a shame to have to write this slightly negative review.

Room Tip: I have no idea as to how to get the best room.

We stayed at this property while visiting Vegas for the WCC Basketball tournament in early March. We booked the 2 bedroom suite, which should be noted is a lock-out style with a foyer joining the two rooms. Each room featured a king size bed and a jacuzzi tub in each bathroom. The kitchen/living room was rather small and didn't have adequate seating for more the 3 people. The rooms were extremely tidy and nicely decorated. As the other reviews state it is a mere 2 minute walk to the strip via the Flamingo lobby. The pool area at the hotel was small yet adequate not to mention offered cheaper drink prices than the neighboring Flamingo pool (which you have access to). In general the hotel was nice and suited our needs, there is no casino floor on the premise which was a nice break from what Vegas has to offer. Would I stay here again? Probably not, only because there are so many hotels in Las Vegas and I would like to experience something different in the future.

This property is very conviently located if you have no car and want to stay right in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. With that said if you have a car and dont want to pay the $10 a day valet parking, then just know you will have to park your car in what appears to be a parking lot for the casino and service staff.

This location was the first HGVC location in Las Vegas and it shows in its design and layout. When you park you have to go though a maze of elevators and buildings to get to the main buidling, then once inside you have two doors to get to your room. There is a hall way door (very heavy) and then an interior door (hall way door opens to a small entrance way where there are two doors) This is convient if you are occupying both rooms or you are crazy about securty. Once inside you again realize this was the first attempt at getting it right. I have stayed at all three of the properties in Las Vegas and this one is the least user friendly layout. Everything from the lighting to the kitchen layout to the bathroom, appears to not have thought out design wise.

On a positive note, all rooms face the inter court yard area (pool) and you are only a few steps from the Flamingo Casino. The staff was nice and the busboys very helpful with getting our luggage from our car to our room and the reverse when we left.

This place is a hidden gem among huge casino based hotels!!!

I choose this hotel when I have to travel to Vegas because the location is fantastic. The lobby of the hotel is not surrounded by slot machines. The rooms are nice and big. The fitness room is great and free (unlike the big hotels which charge you 25 bucks a day). I also got free internet last time for being a Hilton Honors Member...I also get status and points from Hilton for staying here. The Monorail to the Convention Center is outside the back door. And if I want to go to a casino, then I simply just walk into the Flamingo Hilton and I can enjoy the ding ding ding of people losing there money. There is a small kitchen and washer/dryer in some...I love being able to cook my own breakfast and wash my workout clothes.

This hotel is a win-win for me in a sea of losers (that is a gamblers reference)!

Great trip! We stayed here with our friends booking two one-bedroom units and one-two bedroom unit for 3 nights. I had called prior to our stay to make early arrival reservations for one of our friends and to confirm that the 3 reservations were linked. We then received two confirmation phone calls one -verifying our arrangements and another confirming our room was ready just as we were driving into town. What a great greeting. Our guests commented on the friendly reception and greeting when they arrived. This high level of service continued through our stay. One couple became ill while we were together and we were able to make arrangements to extend their stay or provide a late check out. As we were walking away from making these arrangments, Gina at the front desk also added that they would send a Get Well basket to our friends room. Hat's off to the team at the HGVC at the Flamingo, you made this a memorable experience.

One thing to take into consideration is that two-bedroom units are lock-offs. A combination of a one bedroom suite and a studio sharing a common entry door. Great with teens or friends with a different schedule, not as much flow as a two-bedroom apartment.

I travel almost weekly for work and this was the best customer device I have ever received at a hotel.

This was a fun trip to celebrate a friends birthday. Gina at the front desk took good care of us. She event had balloons sent to our room with a card to celebrate my friend's birthday.

The hotel is in a great location. You can easily walk to Cesars and City Center. The property is behind the Flamingo Hotel so it's a bit confusing getting to the strip and depending how you walk it you may be walking near the service entrance of the other hotels.

The rooms are decent. I would say a typical Hilton property. The hallways could use new carpeting.

The deli cafe on the property has great sandwiches and is reasonably priced.

All and all a decent place to stay in Vegas if you are looking to avoid the typical casino hotel.

In general we love HIlton Grand Vacation properties and this was no exception. Rooms are perfect for families - full kitchen, laundry, separate bedroom, 2 sink areas in the bathroom, etc... The property is kept very nicely and we felt the staff went above and beyond. Robert, who helped us with our luggage when we arrived and then also when we left was extra friendly and helpful. Also we had a problem with our tv remote the first day and a maintenance man was at our door within 10 minutes and took care of it right away. Also we asked the housekeeper about getting some coffee filtes and she returned 10 minutes later with a whole pack. All in all a class act! Not to mention the location is very central on the strip and gambling at the Flamingo is just steps away.
