“Called Viva las Arepas---great”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

A little north of the Stratosphere on LV Blvd & Oakey, this is an inexpensive, fast-food place with great food. We ate there twice, and heartily recommend their arepas and salads. Hard to find cheap-but-good near the Strip, but this is both. And the bus stops right across the street from it. Don't be fooled by the non-glitzy neighborhood---it's actually safer to walk it than downtown: It just doesn't have the same amount of neon.

The photo on the TripAdvisor page is inaccurate and old: This is actually a nice restaurant, brightly lit, with lots of tables, and a clean bathroom. The name of the place is also Viva Las Arepas.

“Delicious, quick and cheap”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

Full service restaurant near south end of the strip. The arepas were very good! Very unassuming place, but very clean. Parking isn't the best and the neighborhood isn't the best, but I never felt unsafe.

“Arepas <3”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

They moved into a nearby building and have a full-service restaurant now (called Viva las Arepas).

I tried an Arepa and some taquenos (their cheese sticks) and was quite happy! The prices are reasonable and the ingredients all well prepared!

I wanted so badly to come back before my vacation was over, but never had the chance...but would recommend this to anyone that enjoys Mexican/Latin American food as a chance to try something unique & special (in our country at least).

The food is far better (and less expensive) than many of the upscale Latin American restaurants in other parts of Vegas, so it's definitely worth the drive!

“dangerous place”
Reviewed December 6, 2012

it is a low end fastfood place with overpriced food for what you eat (greasy arepas, expired guava juice, bad place).

“AMAZING Venezualan Food, Particularly Arepas!”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

First, as other reviewers have already noted, this small building in a corner of the parking lot for Dino's bar (a great dive bar) actually seems to be named "Viva Las Arepas", and that is the name that appears most frequently on the signs on the building and on the menus, and, more importantly, that is the name that local Vegas newspapers and websites seem to use when referring to this place.

Well, I will start by telling you that I LOVE arepas, and I has overjoyed to learn of the existence of this little stand while reading a local Vegas weekly newspaper the other day, and I was even more overjoyed to learn that the stand was located only a bit more than a mile below my hotel (which is located in the old downtown area of Vegas).

The menu selections at this little stand are great, and the arepas are AMAZING, and inexpensive. There are a couple of picnic tables and chairs located near the stand, and also three or four old stools located along a narrow stainless steel counter mounted on an outer side wall of the stand.

I will be visiting this stand a lot during my stay here in Vegas! I love it!
