I usually stay at the California Hotel and spend most of my time playing at Main Street. I like the high ceilings and décor, and with 20X odds at the craps tables, it's the place to be. The dealers here are as a group are very friendly. The Triple 7 Brewpub is an outstanding place to eat and have a beer. Haven't had the buffet in a few months, but it has always been a very good deal for the big eater. The bridge from the Cal to Main Street Station is a godsend, especially for this last trip where the mercury peaked at 115. And, lastly, this part of Las Vegas is very accessible from the freeway. Parking's usually not a problem unless there's something unusual going on at Fremont Street. As is the case with the California Hotel, Main Street Station caters to locals from Hawaii.

The Garden Court Buffet has a good variety of food. The food is prepared well. The quality and variety of the food is a good value, considering the price. The dining room is visually appealing. The dining room is clean and the staff courteous.

Did not stay at the Casino but saw the buffet in the Fodor's guide and we decided to try it out. We did not have to wait in line and it was around 5:30pm. Very good food and had a very good choice of foods to try. Price was not bad either.

Main Street's casino has everything that most casinos in Vegas have, but it also has some added bonuses. Firstly, there are high ceilings here to make the place feel less claustrophobic, and in those high ceilings are some beautiful chandeliers that are a part of Main Street's extensive antiques collection. Secondly, this is one of the less busy casinos, so I felt happy to stay here and play for a while. Many of the patrons are older so it's not as noisy and chaotic as some of the Strip casinos. The buffet and Triple 7 Brewery are very close for when you want to take a break. I ended up doing very well here, so it's now my lucky casino.
