“Fun Atmosphere Vegas Hotel”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

I come to Vegas every year for the final Supercross race in Sam Boyd Stadium. This weekend usually falls right on the first weekend in May every year, which means, Supercross, Cinco De Mayo, a big boxing match, Kentucky Derby, and so on.... You get the point. Its a really a kick off to the summer here in Vegas. So lots of people, the pools are open and its starting to get hot.

Palms is a great place to be if your looking for a usually very fair priced hotel where there is a lot of young people energy. The Palms pool is very fun, And I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a Vegas pool party experience to go there. If you want a little R&R , walk right over to the Palms Place pool and relax there. Its much smaller but meant for those who just want peace and quiet. I also highly recommend the Simon & 9 Steakhouse restaurants if you stay there! Great Service and phenomenal food!

Overall: Stay at the Palms if your, Into the Vegas pool scene, Don't mind being off the strip (only a very short cab ride away), Like having a lot fun young energy around you!

Also, there is a great - inexpensive liqueur store across the street at the Gold Coast Casino! (In case you need to stock your room)

I like the room, very clean, spacious and modern. Yes, good value. I like the location which is off the strip, not so crowded and congested. Love the buffet breakfast at the cafe. Very good value for money with delicious and wide choice of food.
The only downside is the shuttle bus timing. Starting at 11 am is a bit late and ending at 8 pm is way too early, maybe should start at 10 am and end at 10 pm.

First the positives: The hotel & casino is spacious and airy. You can walk through it without losing your sense of direction and all the restaurants, etc. are clearly marked. The air quality is good throughout and there was no line a check-in (Thursday afternoon). Their newly remodeled Premier rooms are trendy, clean and classy. The air conditioning was quiet and felt great.

Now the Negatives: The unexpected $20 per night resort fee (but I guess most hotels charge that now). The main pool is VERY loud on the weekends during their "Ditch" parties. And you can't get in unless you pay $20-30! We could barely hear ourselves think because of all the racket going on at the pool 26 floors below our room! This went on from 10am until 5pm Friday AND Saturday. An afternoon nap was out of the question. Not only that but the room's walls are paper thin. We could hear lots of noise coming from neighboring rooms as well as everything uttered down the hall (even if they weren't being loud). That was most disappointing.

My premier room was awesome and I really liked the amenities and the view. The staff are very professional and the casinos and bars are attractive and fun. There are some excellent dining options also.

Room Tip: Ask for a premier room, they've been newly remodeled

I had just finished my business trip and decided to have some fun. I booked a room at the Palms, since I am a video poker lover and the Palms has some of the best machines in town. I wasn't disappointed. My room was in the Ivory Tower. These rooms are very very nice. Very upscale, trendy, clean and comfortable. I spent some time at the beautiful pool in the afternoon. The Ivory Tower is a perfect location, since you just go down the elevator and turn left and there's the pool! Bonus fries! It was senior day! I played for a while, then qualified for a scratch off ticket. I won $5 off my dinner! I ate at the 12/7 restaurant and was thrilled to get a 12 oz. steak and a beautiful lobster tail for only $23 (after applying the coupon). It was very good! After dinner I played video poker for a couple of hours and ended up a winner! If you like video poker and are looking for a little less woop-la-la than the strip, check out the Palms. P.S. The Ghost Bar has one of the best views of the strip!

Room Tip: Loved the Ivory Tower. Spent time at the pool too.

We got one of the best deals of the year, and thought the room was just right (and certainly terrific for the price paid). We took in the pool for about 6 hours of each day we stayed, and got to know and enjoy all of the pool personnel and wait staff (each was very friendly, and drinks were very good too). Most of our meals were taken at the resort, and they tasted great and were reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the pool, and had a nice view of the South Strip. Try to get a room on the Sout...
